Cyberpunk is a really incredible game. Did you enjoy the map in this video? It was made by my editor William. A local artist here in New Orleans named Sadie Wiese made the little icons for all the stops on our trip. There's a link to her instagram in the video description. I think it turned out pretty good and if this video performs well, I'd love to do something similar in other games. Thoughts?

Okay bye have a nice Saturday. Shoutout if you’re going to a protest.

One of my favorite things to do in Cyberpunk is climb buildings using the double jump augment. It's surprisingly fun to find ways to get to the top, and usually you can find a lot of unfinished areas that they never expected people to get to

That bump, I can tell you exactly what it is. Someone ordered materials for a project (mulch, soil, maybe wood chips) and never followed through. They kept telling themself they’d get to it and over the next year or so, moss and grasses grew over it.

I think I remember hearing that there was a guy at cdpr who’s job was literally designing trash. Like they had a garbage specialist whose job was to make realistic, believable garbage, and put them in believable places.

the party with no music could totally be the partygoers playing music over comms together! kinda ilke a silent rave

The BioTechnica farm "garage" is a garage you physically drive through with Jackie during the Nomad start of the game. Otherwise serves no purpose. Also at the brain cage relaxation centers, there's one (or maybe all) that lets you sit and relax and after a moment the bakeneko will appear on your lap and the game openly disapproves of you getting up and disturbing the cat.

It would be neat to implement a forever road that allows you to keep driving endlessly over a procedural terrain (and takes you out of view of the main landmarks of the game), but when you turn back, you're only a minute or two from that "Leaving Night City" sign.

I think the empty relaxation boxes are amazing environmental storytelling, it's like the corp's are saying
"We care about our employees, so we built relaxation boxes"
But there's no way any corporate employee's have the time and luxury to take a break, so they're empty.

For all these tiny details I'm imagining that there's an overarching plan, but all these "unimportant" sort of filler areas are assigned by units to an army of aspiring game-maker interns. And each intern gives 700% on the one tiny house plot that they have creative power over, whether out of ambition, desire to impress, or just love of making games. So these interns pour their heart and soul into giving character to their one patch of space, and we reap the benefits.

Fun fact: you can get over the border wall with the right cyberware. You can go back to the town you start in if you pick nomad. There’s only a single npc there, grilling. If you follow the roads, you’ll find some unfinished structures without floors and stuff, and you can go to a mountain range that eventually leads you off of the map and into the void

God I want a 4 hour Any Austin video exploring all of Cyberpunk's weirdly hyper detailed environments so fucking bad

The forever road is shown in the Edgerunners show. Its the place that Maine sees when he's affected by Cyberpsychosis. Insane detail that makes me love the show even more

remember, cyberpunk 2077 isn't 50 years from us, it's a completely different universe that went on a different trajectory since the late 80s early 90s. They developed cyberware before smartphones

8:00 This actually seems like a silent disco, which you'd think would be more prevalent in a society where everyone's got a CODEC system.

At 10:35 you mentioned the UV lights in the backyard — they’re actually bug zappers! Those UV lamps are commonly used to keep away mosquitoes and other insects. Makes sense in Night City’s summer nights 😅

You're one of the only youtubers I've seen who genuinely plays games like I do, getting into the nooks and crannies and being in places you probably shouldn't be. You and Habie147 are my GOATs.

Night City is such a fantastic map. Insane details and it feels so real. Only gripe is that it feels somewhat unused in a lot of aspect. Some parts of the town you never really visit at all.

10:18 is the bleep a whole 5 second before the curse!? Thats great.

Wait, are you gonna do Cyberpunk restaurant reviews? Hell yeah, I've been wanting that for ages!

11:20 Correction: This location is actually part of a side quest! Specifically, in the quest "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out," which is a follow up to "Sinnerman." I won't spoil the questline because it's one of my favorites, but one of its pivotal moments takes place in PieZ. In addition, the hectic, overstimulating atmosphere of PieZ deliberately plays into the themes of the questline. Still, it's neat to see that you can still stumble across the place completely detached from the quest. Makes the world feel just a smidge more alive, y'know?
