At 19.03, you can see a gold post box. That means a resident of that town had won a gold medal in the Olympic Games, which were held in the UK in 2012.

Most of the rural village telephone boxes are now used as a free library or house a defibrillator for community use.

"Those benches are like coffins"  that's because they are tombs

The Cotswolds are in the West Country near Gloucestershire and Cheltenham in the countryside about three hours from London

No it is a blackbird and belongs to the thrush family , what a fabulous singer!

Gotta love this girl thinking that church yard tombs are benches. But she’s right there is something cosy about these villages in winter.

Rutland is in central England and is the smallest county at 147 square miles.

Exton Village is near me. You need a LOT of money to live there. A 2 bedroom semi detached will set you back over £400K and upto £1million. Tea rooms original building was 1502.

Regarding the "could you feasibly visit all of these places from London in a weekend trip" - as someone who lives here, I would say: physically, yes. Sensibly... not really? I see this very often from American reactors, who see that "oh, the UK is only 600 ish miles long, we could do it all in a week!", because they look at it like the USA - if you drive 600 miles in a LOT of the USA, you see 600 miles of corn fields & the occasional town with the same grid layout & the same stores. You can drive 6 miles in the UK & you have already passed a historical battle site, a beautiful village, a selection of pub choices to spend the evening at, a castle, & 4 different churches older than the USA - the country is just so much denser with stuff which is worth seeing & giving your time to. Sure, you could drive from London STRAIGHT to Bradford-on-Avon, take 3 pictures, get back in the car, drive to Rutland etc. etc.; but it would frankly be a waste of your trip, & a waste of all the amazing things in the comparatively small distance between those places!

Judging by the holly wreath on the door, the Rutland part of the video was taken at Christmas.

Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire just down the road from me looks like the winter time near Christmas

Cotswolds are close to London in American terms (2 hours away)
This is a lovely autumnal/winter morning

The Cotswolds are in the west of England - around 100 miles from London. Avon is the old Celtic name for "river" and is pronounced as aevon (with a long "a"). So a place like Bradford on Avon would have been a place where the river can be crossed (forded) without a bridge.

It is Winter DA.

That “orchid” was an Iris.

The rain doesn't stop us brits, it's only water, we just put on a coat and continue with our day.
This looks like winter hence the rain and no leaves on the trees

Approx. 3,000 working red telephone boxes left. The Bridge Tea Room building is 500 years old. The Cotswolds are at the other side of the counrty to London. It's a soft A in Avon, "Ayvon" Have a look at Rye, East Sussex

For the benefit of any Americans watching, the UK doesn't still use steam trains, they are what are called 'heritage railways' because we like to preserve the past. 🤣

There are no people around during the day because they are working somewhere away from the villages. The thing with the little bell tower is a village school.  Yes, most of these buildings are houses, cottages that people still live in , They are built of stone, not brick, which can last hundreds of years, but some of them will be quite new, but built to match the older cottages. The Tea Council is just an association that promotes Tea culture. It would be the cake that would be a bit crumbly. It isn't always raining in the UK, often it is hot & sunny, but most of this is winter, so likely a bit cold. The little bird feeding on the berries is a Blackbird, not a crow. Yes the white birds are swans, but the noise you heard at that scene were crows, which are very noisy birds. The streets will not be only one way because they are far older than cars & people need to go both ways.

Bird with yellow beak is a blackbird.
