Just to correct Richard that area of Manchester was developed for the commonwealth games before the current owners were thought of. They built the training complex that's it.

The fans come first…….Keys just said it’s not the fans fault…..True but Everton still got deducted points and during the season and had points deducted during an appeal .. …….Should be the same for shiteeh

100 points deduction for 5 years. Banned from Europe 10 years. Owners forced to sell up. Compensation to any club that lost out due to Man City. Aston Villa were replaced by Man City.

Fans can still go and watch them play in league 2, so fans won't be being punished. Premier league need to make an example or it's open season for all clubs to do the same

Absolute bollocks. What you seem to not be taking into account, is by their cheating, it caused a domino effect. If they hadn't built & cheated then would NEVER have put these teams on the pitch. Also players were being paid OFF the books, so didn't they question that? They should have all their trophies retracted & should be relegated to the national league & a 5 year transfer ban.

It's self-evident Manchester City must be punished with an enormously heavy points deduction because their breaches were so much more numerous and severe than those committed by Everton and Nottingham Forest who got on average 4 points deducted for 1 breach.
If every club is treated equally and with same principles, Manchester City must get at least a points deduction of 456 points (4 points deducted for 114 breaches).

That said, I think City are likely to receive a severe penalty and a good chance of them going down more than one level. Also a strong case for the owners being declared unfit.

Also, what Andy says about Rangers is untrue. That club went into administration due to extreme debts and were eventually wound-up, due in large part to shady tax and employment law loopholes which HMRC eventually claimed as unpaid tax contributions. City are far from insolvent with unlimited money but were found to be conspiring to break rules in order to gain a competitive advantage. The two situations are very different.

50 points deduction for the next NINE seasons (that they are in the Premier League). Banned from the FA Cup and League Cup for the same period. That matches the period 2009 - 2018. Oh and a transfer ban for the next TEN windows. Obviously they’d have no chance of making the European spots for some time…and could get relegated to the Championship (maybe several times).

Forget fines, let the clubs that have been affected by this sue City instead.

A fine of no matter what magnitude is nothing to the owners. Saying the fans and players are not culpable or liable is a bit far fetched, if a bank robber gave someone the proceeds of their illegal deeds and they spent it then they are culpable. Did the players not realise that they were getting grossly overpaid? Did the fans not wonder where the money was coming from? Ignorance is not an excuse. What City gained has to be dented or dismantled and that is the only fair outcome.
