Kudos to M. Eclair - he’s the first journalist to refer to the UAE as an authoritarian regime and its involvement in the slaughter of innocents in Sudan.Never mind the development of parts of Manchester which were part of the sports washing and probably were heavily dependent on quid pro quo agreements.

The only conclusion is that cheats stick together, Guadiola had a history of failed drug tests managed teams with dodgy doctors and failed drug tests. So no surprise that he would say what he has.

My solution is this . City not invited to play (banned) in premier League for 3 years . No relegation, no fine, no points deduction. If they can find another league to play in meanwhile, good luck to them. All titles etc stripped like Armstrongs tour de France wins , left with a huge asterisk . Is this too simple ?

I know the focus is on City but once they have been punished, the focus needs to be on the Premier League. Their lax, hands-off, money-first approach has engineered a culture that allows this. Not just City but Chelsea as well. To punish after the fact and let clubs pay fines is damaging to the league. So many titles need to be stripped from Manchester City, including those after 2018. They clearly are not fit-and-proper owners. How does the Premier League stop this from happening again - at any scale?

City will be tainted beyond 2018. Why would the cheating stop in 2018 if they don't believe they did anything wrong? It is clear from the videos, statements and even the leaked strategy behind their appeal that they do not believe inflating revenues constituted cheating.

So why would they stop in 2018? Their CL winning team was full of players bought with these inflated revenues. Pep's multiple contract extensions were paid for by the same process. How do we think Haaland was bought from Dortmund and how was his massive contract paid for?

Seeing City's 25/26 accounts in a few months when they reveal their latest record revenues will be hilarious.

Phillipe spoke brilliantly. At 10.15 though theres a line about not blaming the fans that many have said. I don't think you should blame all the fans - at what point do you give fans some of the blame though? They've held a banner up in support of a Crown Prince owner for 18 years and never petitioned its removal, either for sporting or warmongering reasons. They've also held up a banner celebrating a lawyer recently. When you couple this with the fact the city fans I know personally show very little care for the charges and little remorse about the current state of the premier league, should we blame the fans to some extent?

Micah looked broken on that podcast he does with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer. He's the soul and beating heart of modern TV football punditry, and it hurt to see him like that. So add that to the long list of City's evil crimes.
