Taylor Swift knows how to get fans talking.

The superstar, 36, made the whole 2026 MTV Video Music Awards shimmer in jewelry that perfectly complemented her sparkly silver skirt when she hit the red carpet at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27.

While she accessorized with several striking sparklers, it’s only natural Swifties’ eyes were drawn to the new jewelry that she’s been rocking since marrying her husband, Travis Kelce, on July 3: her wedding band that nestles perfectly with her old mine cut diamond engagement ring by Kindred Lubeck.

Swift also wore dramatic, diamond dangle earrings by Leviev that sparkled through her straight, shoulder-length hairstyle. In addition to her massive rock and wedding band, she accessorized with an Etho Maria diamond ring.

Taylor Swift is objectively out of touch. She has been famous for her entire adult life, and it’s become a level of fame none of us can even comprehend. As she got bigger her world got smaller, and it’s showing in her music.

Something that I think is often overlooked about Taylor Swift's situation specifically is that she said in her own documentary that she wants to speak up more and be on the right side of history. Which is why it's so disappointing as a fan to see her let us down with her silence now. It makes it very clear that her brand of feminism was only about uplifting herself, her image, and the issues that affect her personally. Because now that she's so rich that she is untouchable, these issues don't affect her anymore, and all of her supposed solidarity is nowhere to be found.

I'm going to steal a concept here from Todd in the Shadows. When an artist has their first bad release after a string of wins, people will usually defend it. But the second bad release in a row will get all the hate from both albums together, and I think that's what's happening here.

I've never really liked Taylor Swift's music, but I've noticed it got much worse when she started befriending republican, conservative and MAGA people... It's music that feels like it's catered to and made for them.

My biggest issue as a Swift listener for 20 years is… the Showgirl album we got was not the Showgirl album we were promised. Don’t promise me a folklore storytelling Showgirl aesthetic album and then give me hot garbage that isn’t written well or on theme lol. She could have called this one Cancelled! and the fuck the haters shtick wouldn’t even be that surprising.

She’s creatively bankrupt.

i think Taylor Swift fatigue is understandable because she’s created this expectation that everything she says, does, wears, or posts could be an “easter egg” that fans need to decode…it keeps people constantly analyzing her personal life, anticipating the next release, and buying multiple editions of the same music or endless merch. not many other celebs in her sphere demand that level of attention, time, and money from their audience, so when the actual music feels underwhelming, i can understand why people eventually get tired of the whole cycle

As an actual English student (something something “America’s English teacher”) the only Taylor Swift song I have an actual opinion on is The Fate of Ophelia and oh my GOD I hate it. The chorus gets stuck in my head sometimes even though I KNOW it makes literally no sense and has nothing to do with Ophelia and that makes me even more furious. It’s an earworm in the worst way possible (as in, it makes me feel as if I have an actual worm in my ear)
