my favourite part of this album is how the most romantic it got was: “i found a man who doesn’t find me COMPLETELY insufferable, he’s the love of my life”

lmao and they say romance is dead

it genuinely baffles me that she wrote enchanted about a CRUSH but she can’t write nearly as good of a song about her husband 🫩

olivia was so so snubbed...EVERYONE was talking about her album, and genuinely that album was one of the peakest things I've ever had the chance of listening to, she better win a Grammy.

Cleveland shows a flaw that Taylor really has, where she doesn't seem to realize that everyone else knows her relationship has furthered farther than the "break up in 2 months" phase. She's writing and singing a song that comes across like she just recently began dating Travis and is telling off the haters who think he'll leave her in a month by saying they're already so committed that he took her to his childhood home etc. But they're a married couple. They already have done that major relationship step that crosses him from "boyfriend" to "husband". So instead of sounding even slightly cute or snap-back-y it just seems like she's either extremely insecure in the relationship and does think he'll leave her or she can't write songs about anything past a dating stage relationship.

I just feel like Taylor Swift needs to take a few years off, see a therapist, and then write a new album. Emphasis on the therapist

It does tickle my funny bone that in Cleveland she makes it sound like "see, I won because I got married" and seemingly implying that marriage means the relationship will last. But on the same album she has a song named after Elizabeth Taylor was married EIGHT times. Like if this was competition then Elizabeth is winning, honey

Not to be an elder millennial on main, but the VMAs and MTV in general used to be cool as hell

I think people will defend Taylor Swift even if she commits a crime. It’s ok to admit that these songs aren’t her best and there are some very valid criticisms of her and her music. That being said, some people will hate on her no matter what she does

The songs about Travis lack passion. I'd have thought she'd be writing like she finally found it, after all the heartbreak, she finally found her dream guy, her everything, her HUSBAND, but all the songs lack that. I feel like she got to an age where a woman is expected to start a family and settled for the first decent guy she could find to be able to do that.

My theory is quite simple: her Travis songs are surfface level so he can understand them.

i feel like because Taylor genuinely has been the victim of misogyny and situations like that with Kanye West, her fans refuse to listen to any honest criticism.

I truly don’t understand how Taylor has become a political icon when she so actively does NOT discuss politics, and many of her actions show that she is perhaps more right leaning that her fans portray. It’s also things like her now-husband hosting Brad Pitt when the allegations about him have been around for years, and Taylor appeared on the podcast just a few weeks later.

I don’t dislike Taylor because she’s a woman, I dislike Taylor because she has so much power and only uses it when it suits her.

I’ve heard a lot of Taylor Swift hate/criticism. I have never heard a single person say “she could do better” than Travis Kelce.

I think it’s very telling that her song is addressing entirely imaginary hate that almost no one is voicing rather than the actual criticism she’s been getting lately… that she’s an out of touch billionaire phoning in boring music.

Im so sorry but Charli was spot on with "boring barbie". The more brand-friendly she becomes the worse her music and performance of persona gets.

it feels like taylor is trying to mimic sabrina because sabrina is so fun, but she’s already so big—both of them are. if we want sabrina, we will listen to sabrina. additionally, sabrina is unfortunately more witty than taylor

The thing is that she is almost 40 and she’s still writing like she’s a teenage girl stuck in her bedroom. It’s not even that she’s writing about love and heartache and all of the things that go along with that - it’s how she’s writing it. Adele makes amazing love songs and so do so many other artists. It’s also getting awkward to keep on listening to her processing and reprocessing past relationships the way that she does. Like process and move on. I just feel like I’m listening to some sad, internal monologue over and over again. Genuinely cannot get through the 4 latest songs.

The katseye thing I relate. The company is gonna learn the hard way about losing their audience and being filled with kids only.

the vmas fried me so bad bc popularity contests are already shallow enough now that was an hour long premonition for a legacy artist out of their prime we’re reaching new lows 😭

MTV these days is known to give awards to people just for showing up. Ed Sheeran admitted that he got an award that was meant for someone else that wasn't there so they just gave it to him so they have a speech to film. Some people got album of the year without releasing an album that year, but they did show up, so what are we talking about.

her music used to be so poetic and beautiful and now i feel like it’s just… where’s the flavor

The Lisa win is the most ridiculous win EVER. That song made zero noise, didnt chart anywhere
