This video is secretly about why the US healthcare system is the way it is...

in the same way that i don’t blame the guy holding the boom mic on that new harry potter show, i don’t blame a wandkeeper at universal. i say this as a trans person who’s hated harry potter since the late 2000s. but you did the right thing, for the sole reason that you needed to quit for your own sake, cause working for something you don’t believe in will kill your soul. keep fighting the good fight

22:26 "If I can lose my healthcare, you can watch a different TV show" goes absolutely hard.

As a trans woman, I do not begrudge you for doing what you had to do to survive and have safety and security. And I also applaud you for making the choice to leave that job because you could no longer justify staying in that position to yourself.

It goes to show you how capitalism is an abusive relationship. You're trapped and unable to leave.

The Ones Who Walk Away from Wizarding World.

No war but class war, dear. When the working class is this powerless, standing on principle is a privilege few can afford. I'm happy that you have earned a level of security that permits you to remove yourself from that position, and made a scary change even as we know it will still cost you in terms of risk and security.

the wizarding world not having safety signage is absolutely Crazy. How can that be legal?!?!?!

As a trans person I’ve never once thought of the customer-facing employees in almost any boycotted company as complicit. Character acting at Universal because it’s one of the few jobs that accommodates your career is a lot different than signing on to act in the show, or something like that.

No apologies? I DEMAND A FUCKING UKULELE SONG NOW!

Honestly, as the father of a Trans man and "dad" to a dozen more LGBTQ kids you have to cut yourself some slack.  You can't fight if you are dead. You got out when you could and good on you for that.

I know it isn't much, but my Patrion membership will stay active as long as I can afford it.

As a child I decided I wanted to be a writer because of Harry Potter. I thought, I can do much better. The bar is very low. Anyway now I got my foot in the door, let's say.

"The wand chooses you" applying to underpaid entertainment industry work is literally a joke in Castration Movie

10:05 the fact that you had this revelation as a much smaller actor meanwhile actors who have millions of dollars can’t come to. It is genuinely pathetic on their part

I am down with JKR never getting a penny off me ever again. I wish I could retroactively steal my money back.

I wish the people taking away my rights felt a fraction of the shame you do.

Quitting a stable job in the US is terrifying, even when it works out ok. I left my last job after discovering how much the company’s owner was donating to the isreal lobby. Even being certain I was making the correct choice, the cut in pay and three months before I was eligible for health insurance at my new company were painful. These kinds of videos are important, because bravery is contagious. Thanks for speaking out. I hit the hype button, I hope others will too. ❤

I remember how a few years ago you told me about this job over coffee and how conflicting it was. It sucks that the people who feel more pressure to stand up for this are those who need the money the most, so I've always understood the difficult position. Still, I'm so proud of you for taking that step and I'm sending you all the love and wishing you nothing but the best as you embark on the world of self-employment!

Thank you for talking about this. I used to work in the Orlando Park was part of the opening team for Ollivanders in Diagon Alley and got to see the very first group of female wandkeepers.  There were a lot of trans team members in my team and it was the first place I ever felt at home with my queer identity. It’s is hard to explain the level of betrayal that I felt from JKRs actions. I haven’t worked in the parks in 5 years now and while I sometimes miss it I know I would never feel fully at home there again.

As a trans dude I really, really do not blame you for working there. The merch WILL get sold, and well, the next wandkeeper or whoever might be a stan of her who now got a good paying job and can donate some to transphobia goals😭 But it is a GIANT step of support of us and I am appreciating greatly every single person who lets anyone know that they are stopping *because of her*. Fuck jkr. I'm sorry you had to go broke because of her.

As a trans person, I didn't blame you for staying in that soul sucking job, and appreciate you for leaving. Thank you for making this video.

I'm a world where some people can't let go of a tiny bit of entertainment, it takes a lot of integrity to take such a risky step. I appreciate you.
