Remember to share the vid so that one day the people who made these shows see it and beat the shit out of me.

Also Early in the vid I say straight when i meant Cis in regards to Franky.

I think part of the problem is that nowadays, the creators themselves are basically members of the fandom. That probably comes from the fact that they themselves used to be in many fandoms before they became creators, so they don't realize that once you are a creator, you can't treat your fans like equals and you can't be a member of your own fandom, or at least not openly.

I think the Toby Fox method is best—that is, only reminds people he exists with his newsletters.

The internet deciding dana terrace was a transphobe because a show had a non conforming woman instead of a trans woman will go down as one of the most clear expressions of why i dont attach myself to fandoms

Meanwhile Liam Vickers completely disappeared when Murder Drones took off. He knew.

"I hope this all aligns with my fanfic Stan if not I will very disappointed"
-Soos (gravity falls)

Indie: "pls fund my show 😭"
Fandom: "Alr but you gonna babysit my adolescence 👶"

just from the start, it feels like the fandoms are childish because more and more children get thrown on the internet at a young age by irresponsible parents (and a good bit of social pressure from friends who have access to it). There is a reason why mascott horror is as popular as it is despite the drop in quality year after year. children and teenagers are taking the most amount of space online and it shows.

“HUMANS...They only think about themselves, they're spoiled!”

The biggest issue with the "death of the author" is that people forget it's an analytical tool, not a rule. That's what happens when random people pick up fancy concepts without even trying to actually understand said concept (beyond whatever superficiality).

The creator of Gachikuta was harassed out of twitter for communicating with the fandom
A cautionary tale to all aspiring creators: DO NOT TREAT YOUR FANDOM AS EQUALS

I have a blasian friend with  Willow's skin tone tho. There's no one way to "look" mixed.

The dream of one day having a large audience as an artist has gotten more murky and scary thanks to so many perfectly content at tearing your shit down or “exposing” your faults and work that are really you just learning and growing.
I’m not even a gigantic artist and have a reasonable audience and you will always see that handful of hateful man children come at you.
Online hasn’t been the same in such a long time

TADC basically made Gooseworx wipe her hands clean of this series once she was done. People kept demanding a season 2 when the point was that this series was meant to run only for a finite period instead of just continuing on for season after season.

People really need to understand that not everything needs a sequel. Sometimes stories end where they're meant to.

It really says allot that so many Indy creators and manga authors are deleting their social media because there fans are harassing them so much.
Fandom has become their own worst enemy at this point.

There were times where, when we didn't like what the media has done with itself, we didn't cry about it till no end to the creators, we went and overflooded the AO3 with our headcanon fanfics and fixed it ourselves. The level of entitlement fans have towards stuff that isn't theirs these past few years is crazy.

the kog one pissed me off so much when the fans were all like "the super muscular butch woman has to be trans!" as if muscular cis women don't exist.
if anything I felt more seen as a trans woman by the fact she isn't trans because I'm in a pretty similar ball park to what frankie looks like and knowing it's normal for women to just look like that makes me feel more passing and valid rather then saying that muscles equals trans.

It’s tough cause these days if you’re a show runner, you basically have to have a social media presence in order to drive engagement and market the show. Basically have to be the marketing department even when you’re just a creative.

"Writers Were Never Supposed To Babysit Fandom" 👏👏👏

This is why Bill Watterson became a cryptid after making Calvin and Hobbes.
