The Battle of Poitiers was fought on 19 September 1356, during the Hundred Years' War, between a French army commanded by King John II and an Anglo-Gascon force under Edward, the Black Prince. Clear story telling and, as others said, no loud sound track! Very good.

Great video. And no loud background music drowning out the narration ! Many thanks.

So: We outnumber the enemy by more than two to one. Let's attack piecemeal - send a third of our men to attack whilst the rest sit and watch for a couple of hours. What could possibly go wrong?

As an English man I'm so proud of what out numbered and tired men can do . And u wonder why this little island is a warrior culture, we are usually the underdogs but never lack military knowledge and bravery.

Got to feel sad for those poor horses as well, must of been truly terrifying for everyone involved.

The most amazing thing about this was the seeming control of the English army in the face of the enemy

I love the narration, so succinct and well explained

The reality of medieval warfare has been well delivered. Watching through the window of your time machine and experiencing the true horror of war was an experience that truly moved me..Thank you for what you do.

Moments like this prove that even the strongest empires can fall to strategy and timing. Power alone was never enough.

Using good modern archers to understand how the bow was successful, at Cressey, they set up targets of knights, they found that the archers confidently could hit the knights horses from a good distance, and concluded that horses were likely to be hit tens of times.

I think the English dug hundreds of tiny holes too, which made it difficult for the French cavalry

Fascinating video about the Battle of Poitiers. The AI effects bring the battle fully to light. One can see what actually happened there. As with all battles so much brutal death and destruction. Excellent video it truly brings history to life.
