Teddy, my man, this is literally one of the greatest debut albums in rock history.

"He could have just said shut up"

Well, funny you mention that

Back when mental health wasn't talked about, bands like LP were making songs that said "Yeah, I feel like that, too", and we could live through their songs. It was like having someone look at you and give you permission to be angry, sad, or hurt, when the adults in your life were saying to stop, get over it, be better. Some lives were literally saved just because we felt like SOMEONE understood and wasn't afraid to talk about it.

"This guy is a poet."

He definitely is. Mike Shinoda produces, writes, plays, raps and sings. Bro is good at everything.

This is the highest selling debut album (from any genre) of the 21st century for a reason. This is prime Nü Metal 🔥

Wait wait. You’re doing the whole album???? This legit changed my life. RIP Chester. Thank you for helping getting through life.

People don’t realize why ‘Cure for the Itch’ is on Hybrid Theory. The whole album is full of pain, anger, and heavy emotion and then Joe Hahn comes in with this track as a reset button. It feels like he’s literally scratching away the tension after everything you just heard. No lyrics, just sound, giving your head space to breathe before the final song hits harder. Absolute genius placement.

21:45 "He could have just said shut up"... Me knowing what's coming later on in the song 🤣

Linkin Park screamed and shouted for me, because I couldn’t do it. The catharsis I felt in closing my eyes and listening to their music was the only thing that held my hand throughout my adolescence. There’s something to be said about numetal and how expressive and painful the lyricism is

"This guy" is Mike Shinoda. ❤

The first 3 songs of this album are literally the perfect introduction, and it takes some massive balls to basically take 2 full songs not doing your bread and butter just to introduce the 2 vocalists separately. Papercut is all about Mike, One Step Closer is all about Chester, and then With You shows you how they blend those styles together. Masterclass in building an album that is meant to be listened to in order.

I sometimes wondered if this album was so good to me just due to adolescent nostalgia.. now I realize that's not the case... it's just THAT good. Period.

41:43 Points of Authority is about Chester’s childhood abuser and it really speaks for so many SA victims.
“You want someone to hurt like you, you wanna share what you’ve been through.” Chester chose not to press charges when he found out his abuser was also a victim.

21:43 “He could have just said ‘shut up’…” oh, brother.. It’s COMING 😅🤣

The itch was for Han their DJ. If I remember correctly Han wanted to do more record scratching so that bit was a "cure for his itch"

36:30 - ‘I feel relieved’. That’s the key my friend. That’s why people love metal. Relief. It’s also the reason why, generally speaking, people who love metal are kind, and friendly, open and loving, completely at odds with the music they love. Relief, my friend. They get it all out through their music. Such a beautiful observation.

Dude! Maybe for you it's weird or maybe not, but watching you, going thru this album and your emotions interpreting the lyrics..... to a fan like me brings so much joy, even if the lyrics are not "happy" you bring me JOY by watching someone that's actually enjoying this music. Thank you!
