"my sons wife is evil cause they talked through their childhoods and he realised i was emotionally abusive now hes setting boundries😡" absolutely insane

"How DARE my postpartum DIL, who is the most vulnerable she has probably EVER been in her life, decide she would rather be cared for by her mother whom she has known her entire life, and not by me, a woman she hasn't known for nearly as long?" Absolutely WILD.

If your partner can't stand up for you when your MIL disrespects you, then they're not a good partner.

I have a visceral reaction every time I hear "keeping the peace". Like no, that's how literal crimes are swept under the rug.

Does anybody else find "girl fetuses steal the mother's beauty while boy fetuses have the mother glowing during pregnancy" weird as shit?

@opossum632 3 months ago

My mother in law is mad at me for not ignoring sexual assault in the family and calling CPS and then not allowing my children around the person anymore. Wild

So, the icky filter lady is basically admitting that she's condescending, her husband is creepy, and they've been abusive. And she's doing that volunteerily for the whole Internet to see.

@alesiamassey3801 3 months ago

Oh, that woman with the filter is telling on herself. There are PLENTY of adults who were abused by their toxic parents who don’t realize how toxic it was (because they had no basis for comparison, after all) until their partner started pointing it out, or, the abused partner ASKS the other partner for their perspective, and the partner acknowledges and affirms that no, the toxic parent’s behavior is not normal. I’m guessing that’s what happened with that MIL, and she unwittingly told on herself that she’s a toxic parent.

"we had to reschedule our easter" in response to someone literally giving birth as if they can choose the date was one of craziest mask slips ive seen

@haggardtrish 4 months ago

A friends MIL used to purposefully wake up their sleeping baby, so that she could be the one who settled him back to sleep. She would be like "oh I just heard him crying! I'm surprised you didn't hear him, I could always hear my boys when they were babies" So disgusting

Used to work for a hotel chain. We had a wedding party with an overbearing mother AND MIL. The mother asked for connecting rooms with her son on his wedding night (wtf, ick), and the MIL insisted on being on the same floor. The groom was withering in front of me as his mother kept talking over, arguing with the MIL.

Magically, all the rooms on that floor were booked and I had to put them all on separate floors. Oops. 🎉 The groom couldn’t stop thanking me once both left the lobby.

my mother recounts a story of when my dad's mother saw her at a walmart and followed her out into the parking lot and screamed to everyone about how she was worthless for going on a "spending spree" while my dad worked. ...she was buying groceries to make said worker dinner. my dad was NOT happy to come home and find his wife crying

The pick me to monster in law pipe line needs to be scientifically studied.

@WindyValleyMama 4 months ago

I feel like the example of "your dad makes me uncomfortable, your mom is always condescending" seems super telling 🤷🏻‍♀️

@bigd4ddycrouton 4 months ago

36:53 also, referring to the daughter-in-law as the 'baby's mother' feels so dehumanizing. Like girl, she's not just an incubator for your grandson

@yves_lover1 2 months ago

This is how the patriarchy has affected these women- they’re so obsessed with males, they put their sons on pedestals.

@Cass-pt7kw 4 months ago (edited)

The mother-in-law picking up her grandson without permission is just admitting to kidnapping 🤦

@slaughterlamb03 4 months ago (edited)

if your son suddenly believes there was abuse happening at home in his childhood and your first instinct is "his wife is putting him up to this" instead of "I should have a compassionate conversation with him and correct whatever behaviour made him uncomfortable".... yeah, there was abuse happening at home. that whole video had such rancid emotional incest undertones

The headrest mirror thing pisses me off so much- like y’all know mirrors don’t disconnect or malfunction like cameras do? They don’t have to be charged? It is ONE less thing to worry about as a brand new parent, why tf would they want to worry about making sure a camera is working in order to see their baby in the car
