First scare was when you said 'we're now halfway thru 2026'

“It made me appreciate The Mummy with Tom Cruise just a little bit more”

That’s the meanest thing you’ve ever said 😂

I subscribed to Apple TV JUST to watch Widow’s Bay. I binged it on my own, then binged it again with my daughter. I’m now watching it with my husband. It is excellent in every way, and infinitely re-watchable. Your recommendation is spot-on!

As someone who doesn't really like horror anymore, although I do enjoy a good ghost story, I do love your take on scary stuff you make it interesting, so thank you for that.

If it’s available to you, “Something Very Bad Will Happen” is a middling title for perhaps my favorite recent horror series. At first feels like Ready or Not as it’s the same setup. Loner woman is marrying into a rich family, and surprise…. Rich people be crazy. BUT THEN, just as things are coming to a head the story shifts, almost feeling like it was wrapping up. I thought maybe this was going to be like an anthology of horror tropes package as a linear story. Instead this was a point for the story to blossom. I found that most things I’d kind of written off as rote were actually laying groundwork, and did pay off in dividends by final scene.
If my bs hints at how the story arc itself is fun doesn’t do anything for you, I can also say that my wife, a lifelong horror fan with zero attention span and a TikTok addiction, actually put down her phone and watched every episode.

Watched obsession and evil dead burn in theaters back to back, and obsession is a masterpiece imo. What an unnerving and devastating movie, and the acting is top notch! Evil dead burn was good as well, but i liked evil dead rise a lot more

I watched Send Help on the weekend - I couldn't agree more about Rachel McAdams performance - fantastic

I loved Predator Badlands. Great fun to watch!

My husband and I had so much fun watching They Will Kill You. Such a fun and over the top ride. It felt like an 80's horror movie with a 90's comic book movie edge. So good.

Obsession is my number 1 of the past decade maybe the past 20 years. i can't remember the last movie I watched more than twice. I've watched Obsession 3 times in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks for you video, you are very good at presenting your ideas and reviews. Something I particularly liked is that the content isn't slathered with duplicated clips from all the films' trailers.

I feel like I'm so behind on movies right now! Excited to get into some of these, thank you for your great feedback.

Obsession is a little overhyped, I mean it's pretty good, good fun film. But it really had some genuine moments where I thought the director has some real promise of being really cool. There are some shots that reminded me of early Sam Raimi, esp Evi Dead 2, the framing and lingering comera angle. He reminded me of Bruce Campbell as well during this shot, sort of looked like him and the tone of it. Made me sit and take note. Def one to look out for in the future. I hope he keeps this level of fun for the craft moving forward to bigger budgets as Raimi did.
Send Help was classic Raimi, old school film making we don't see that often now. Super cool fun film.

I loved Hokum, Undertone and Obsession. Passenger was also a favourite of mine this year. I could not get into Backrooms but my son loved it. I appreciate this video and will check out some others on your list that I haven't seen!

Widows Bay, a delight! It has it all for me, it has King, it has Carpenter, folk, witchery, slashery, amazing actresses and actors... The bad thing is we have to wait for a second season😮‍💨

Very freaked out by Obsession! Hokum is finally in my viewing at home price range so I will be seeing it soon!

Sometimes you dont have to have a deep meaningful plot ,sometimes it's fun to just go all out
