The second Antaan got 'sploded my wife was like "Well, I'm glad he's not Atrocitus, because he went out like a bitch."

We are almost done seeing everything that was shown in the trailers. The show is going to be very unpredictable from now on

For someone who’s been living on Earth for so long, Zoe still apparently has absolutely no fucking understanding of how humans think. If she had saved John before the car exploded and simply treated the injuries from the crash, I honestly think he would’ve been way more willing to help her.
Instead, she waits until the car blows up, lets him get horribly injured, and then swoops in to save him so he’ll owe her a massive favor. Like girl that’s not how you manipulate someone as smart as John. All you’re doing is making him realize even more clearly that you’re evil and that he absolutely cannot let you survive.

Been waiting for this since last night! Always a good day when Boba uploads.✌️😎

We should have figured Antaan was not Atrocitus since he didn’t have a really pissed off cat by his side all the time.

So when we saw Macon's actor getting his torso measured with silicone wasn't because he was getting a suit... It was just a fake torso so that the stabbing scene would look realistic 😭

That Manhunter left some surprises in that town i believe.

Noah is the “miracle” that Kane was talking about that Zoe gave her. He was taught everything by Zoe. Either he is part manhunter or knows all the secrets or both, he will resurrect his Grandfather using the learned Manhunter secrets and William Macon will become Black Hand setting up the Blackest Night… you heard it here first.

When Zoey told Noah remember everything I told you it made me think. Him being named Noah isn't coincidence. Just like Noah ushered in a new beginning in the Bible, I believe Noah is the first organic Manhunter and has the ability to usher in new life naturally through conception.

legendary refresh pull

They already did make reference to the kid in the 2026 frame: he's not only playing HS football, but he's all state and notably tall. Suspicious at least.

This episode, and the series as a whole, is a good example of a show that is delivering on its promises and yet is being criticized because of unrealistic expectations.

Aaron Pierre deserves an Emmy for his performance. I'm just gonna say it. This man is so fing fine!

@kevz2474 2 weeks ago

John knew she was going to try kill him because she killed Abin Ser because he knew her identity. She was playing John.

@RMV1560 2 weeks ago

And that would’ve been cool to see him. Try his hardest to protect the citizens and let out a scream of frustration because he had to witness someone die

I think the grandson is a Manhunter. Sheriff Kane telling Hal that Zoe gave her a "miracle" was probably her implying she gave her a child when she probably couldn't conceive any. It's clear the sheriff and her husband don't have a romantic relationship and don't even like each other like that; it's staged and a cover like everything in that town. And when Hal told her to "think about her son" and she replies "I AM thinking about my son" -- all signs are pointing that he is not human. Even when John showed him how to throw the football through the tire and he did it perfectly on his first try. 👀 And in this episode the scene where Zoe was talking to her grandson about spying and she told him a lot of people are going to die today but to remember "what she taught him".. I think that's going to be a key thing that's going to come back around and play a role in the plot going forward. The little boy very likely has Manhunter blood in him.. or might be a fully developed Manhunter that Zoe created. And he might even be the one who shot and killed Hal, when he returned for Sheriff Kane in the 2026 timeline. 👀

@Bobatalks, one thing that I feel was overlooked... 2007. It breaks the pattern of 10 year increments. We see a young Kerry "Kane" in the diner, and the manhunter Zoe, reach an understanding with the henchmen semt after Kerry. A finger as proof of death. Flash forward to 2016, and he have Stewart offer a crystal heart as proof. That feels like foreshadowing the nature of Zoes death, maybe not as a direct 1 to 1, but that this plan isn't over. Maybe "guardian" didn't gloss over the manhunter discovery, because it merely perceived it as the loss of a potential asset she was previously unaware of, but still had the asset she was already invested in with John. I also still think she isn't an actual Guardian, but possibly a Controller that infiltrated the guardians during Sinestros coup, and thats why Sinestro knew about John. The controllers & the Guardians both originated from the Maltusians. So since adaptations don't copy paste, maybe they combined the Weaponers with the Controllers. I still think its too convenient that a "guardian" began looking for a replacement for Hal almost as soon as he got the ring... Someone was looking to place a "yes man" on the GL corp, at the same time a manhunter arrives in earth? Sinestro, pushes Hal to fight Stewart, while Zoe and the "guardian" respectively, push Stewart to fight Hal? That's 3 sketchy parties all seemingly with their own vested interests aligning at the same time towards a common goal...

@Paul-D-Hoff 2 weeks ago

Ever think that the cost for the Ring has been to damn high for John.

@marketexperiments 2 weeks ago

Antaan and his group were like, "We are going to explode and the whole town is going to be destroyed" and when the actual explosion happens, it is not even louder than a grenade

Hot take: Throughout the entire life of the DCU, Lanterns will always be grounded. For all intents and purposes, Antaan WAS Atrocitus. Not exactly the right word, but a "metaphor" for Atrocitus if that better illustrates my point. I think we got our Red Lanterns story in these first five episodes, and now we're done with that whole concept. No Red Lanterns, no Sinestro Corps, no Parallax, no Blackest Night and no Emotional Spectrum. I now believe the title "Lanterns" is NOT a promise that we'll see more colors—it was just the name the creators wanted. And to any Smartypants who scoffs at that, tell me: were you one of the people who was SO SURE that Guy's ring was different from Hal's/John's? Let's face it, nothing is confirmed and we haven't been promised anything 😂

Episode 5 kinda changed my expectations for the tv series going forward. We knew this show was going to be grounded, but a lot of us were still expecting some colorful comic lore to pop up at any moment. I'm no longer expecting that. I think "Lanterns" is essentially what Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves did with Batman. At THIS point, it would feel so bizarre to see a Star Sapphire, or Krona, heck I don't even expect to see Kilowog anymore. This show is VERY popular, and the general audience now expects more content like this; why take the show in a wildly different direction and risk viewers abandoning the show? I think Green Lanterns will be permitted to have colorful, silly fun in projects like Superman or Justice League, but this Lanterns tv series? Nah, we're keeping things grounded.

Think of it like this: If we ever saw Christian Bale's Batman fight Poison Ivy in the Dark Knight universe, would she be comic accurate? No. She'd be reimagined as some "realistic" version of herself. I think that's what we got with Antaan/Atrocitus.
