Hiring writers of that level, getting it in a prime HBO slot, yeah, this show was always gonna be awesome but I do really appreciate how much of the lore they're dropping throughout. I can't wait for the next episode, this was superb.

The way he was frozen the same way John found him on the stands like the first time was great

Hal: Focused on the mission.
John: Focused on somebody’s grandma.

The Manhunters could have known the guardians didn't consider earth a location of interest so they chose to hide there

I was legitimately searching for this video 10 seconds ago and I checked my home page, there it is 16 seconds ago.

I thought John was checking for the imprint on his ring finger on Hals hand that would be there if hed worn it for years.

And since he didn't have that, maybe Hal is kidnapped, and the body is supposed to make it seem like they killed him.

theres a scene where sheriff kerry is talking to someone on the phone and says "tell barb i said hi" what if since her last name is kane, she came from gotham, and keeps in contact with james gordon and his daughter barbara

Loved the interrogation scene, and the way the alien called him out about his ring power! Also, I wish the alien had a small transformation

John being vegan might tell us something more about him. This is a stretch but I think maybe seeing how John’s father shoots an apple off his head as a child, then says “lets get some burgers” as a reward for not being afraid, it might be subtlety be telling us that John is suppressing his fear rather than overcoming/ facing his fear. He’s avoiding to eat meat because it might bring back some bad memories. Again this is a reach but something I thought of during a second viewing of the episode

I want to know why Hal's body was upright when he was shot? I mean, I know that it was cold outside, but not to the point where he would immediately freeze in place when he was shot in the head. That just doesn't make any sense. I think we are going to learn a lot more about his death.

I absolutely LOVED this first episode. Enjoyed it more than I expected. The chemistry with the characters, the mystery, I was totally sucked in by it all. And I think there's something more to the Hal scene at the end. I just don't think it's as simple as "Oh, Hal's dead". I just don't believe he is, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Excited to see how everything unfolds.

I like how they explained his origin because when I’ve seen it they have Hal nearby the crash when he’s chosen and that always makes it feel like they’re scanned like a 10 block radius for someone.

Having him plucked from hundreds of miles away feels more like he’s the one of a kind person on earth for the job

Lanterns has that extra qaulity to it that hits you right off that bat. In every scene theres almost always a chefs kiss moment that you cant help but smile at. A moment that tells you alot of detail, hardwork and thought and care were put into this show to give us the best story they could.
Immediately you can feel that HBO big budget prestige TV qaulity to it. It manages to both be comic booky and gritty and grounded at the same time. Its both funny at the right times without undercutting any serious moments while also being suspenseful and engaging sometimes in the same scene without it ever feeling jarring or creating any tonal whiplash.
The dynamic between Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler is incredibly engaging and fun to watch. The best dynamic in the DCU so far and perfect castings for both.
After the 2011 Green Lanterns movie this is exactly what the Lanterns mythos needed in live-action.
A big win for the DCU! I absolutely cannot wait to see the rest of the series and beyond!!
