With the Lanterns Season 1 finale right around the corner, we finally have enough clues to start putting the pieces together. After everything we've learned about Hal Jordan, John Stewart, the murder mystery, and what's REALLY happening behind the scenes, I have a few theories about how this story could end.

In this video, I'm breaking down my biggest Lanterns finale theories, including who I think is responsible for ending Hal Jordan, what the final episode could reveal, where John Stewart's story is heading, and what this could mean for the future of the DC Universe.

There are still A LOT of unanswered questions… but I think the show has been giving us clues this entire time. I'll be going over my theories as well as some of yours that you left for me in the comments.

It ends we get left with a cliffhanger leading into season 2 aaaaaaaand…. HBO never “GREEN” lights season 2. See what I did there?

5:58 Liliana is a Guardian from the comics.

9:43 Johns veganism was a trauma response because he associated meat with the hamburgers his parents would reward him with after he completed one of their insane tests.

Him eating meat again in the 2026 timeline is to show that he overcame some of this trauma.

Lanterns ends with the closing credits.

they'll insert his ring consciousness into a newly cloned body...for Hal. Then Hal goes into season two way less grumpy and I think John may be the one to do it.

Just pointing out, we never saw Hal's Sentry get reabsorbed at the end of Ep. 5.

I think Hal is still alive and shows up in a post scene

I find it amazing that all those theories in various youtube channels never bring up the bearded man that interviewed John in ep. 03. He had a GL power ring and was clearly working with Lianne.
Any theory involving her must account for that guy.

It’ll be interesting if Sinestro killed a Guardian because it got corrupted by yellow/Parallax. There is so much we don’t know about what happened.

But it would be very different from the comics since Sinestro is supposed to lead the Yellow Lantern Corp. it would be interesting if this Sinestro is a good guy.

I think Liana is a blend of three characters, and the clues are hiding in plain sight. First, there is Lianna from the comics, a tall Maltusian introduced during Kyle Rayner’s run. She had the same abilities as the Guardians, and they took her in and trained her, but still treated her like an offshoot of their race instead of one of their own. Then there is Scar, a female Guardian with a scarred face. They keep Laura Linney’s face hidden, and her character says it disturbs people. That feels like a pretty deliberate breadcrumb. The third piece is the Weaponers. My theory is that she defected and became one, because that red outfit with the X looks straight out of their wardrobe. Now here is where it gets interesting. I think she and Sinestro were lovers, moving like a cosmic Bonnie and Clyde. She is helping him get his ring, Hal is hot on their trail, and somewhere along the way, something happened to him. Put those clues together, and that is the story I see taking shape.

Lianna and Sinestro are in cahoots.

They were dividing and conquering Hal and John, by pressing their insecurities to encourage their fear to be more prevalent.

I think Lianna let Sinestro out once their plans kinda had time to come to fruition. Lianna is most likely a weaponer. I imagine they had to keep Hal and John from finding the portal in Rushville when they were trying to figure out the manhunter issue.

It started when the manhunter arrived on Earth. I imagine there was a very specific reason why she escaped and that's what brought the weaponer and Sinestro to Earth.

Hal was a person that was chosen by the ring and when Sinestro gave him attention to keep him under control it just made Hal look to him as a father figure. This allowed Sinestro to manipulate him against the guardians to such a degree that even when he betrayed everyone Hal didn't care.

Lianna focused on finding a person that would be the polar opposite of Hal. That way they would not mesh and be at odds.

Then together they used their insecurities against each other.

That way they could hide the secret of that planet.

The secret being they are forming the Sinestro corp.

I think Hal found the portal when he came back and wasn't being manipulated. Then he went in and got messed up with the fear toxin in the planet.

Then he got back and was still being affected by it and maybe he thought that Noah was a new manhunter and threatened him and Kerry protected Noah and killed Hal even though she loved him.

I think Noah isn't actually a manhunter, but we are given just enough information to make it seem reasonable. That way it's reasonable for Hal to think he is when he is full of the fear toxin.

I also think he is paranoid enough to leave a spare key to his locker before going through the portal just in case something happens to him.

My theory is Lyanna was corrupted, but she is a guardian. She freed Sinestro and Sinestro went after Hal. Together they investigated noah, eventually Hal stole his portal and left him stranded. Sinestro might use lyanna to build a yellow battery. And I think it's obvious that Karry killed Hal. He didn't fight back but he left breadcrumbs for John. But I think the biggest twist is that the manhunters didn't kill the people in the yellow planet. It was probably the guardians or Lyanna, because it doesn't fit with the manhunter's MO. And I think by the end, lyanna will be a qward weaponer.

Don't want to poop on your theory, but.. Going by Halogram's gut, he was shot by John, Kerry, and Himself.
I think that Hal found out that Noah was a manhunter when Noah used grandma's tech to heal him after the fire.

@kaaaaaaaad 1 day ago

idk why the red lantern theory got so much traction, why would a corp consisting of angry rage filled individuals not want to enact their revenge by their own violent methods than relying on a random human especially a green lantern who could potentially get in their way. I don't even think the names were that close other than the first letter but if thats all it takes I wonder what people will come up with next

@garrison778 1 day ago (edited)

i want to see liana and hal in the same room. it’d an insane twist if Hal knows her but knows she is supposed to be dead or something. also, i think Noah is a manhunter in ideology. Zoe couldn’t conceive and used external means. you can kill a race but not an idea. i think the show will make the manhunters more sympathetic like how the skrulls are refugees in the MCU. maybe the guardians treated them like a slave caste and deliberately designed them to be sterile. the guardians or sinestro attacked anton’s world and accused the manhunters

@Thkaboutit 1 day ago (edited)

Lianna is or was a Guardian at one point. When she told John he will be Hal's Apprentice. Hal was at John's parent's house and said the Guardians told him to train John.

@TerrenceNowicki 1 day ago

John becoming a vegetarian sure seemed to me like his own small way of rebelling against his father's abusive influence without completely abandoning the life path his parents had set out for him, but going back to eating meat seems like it represents him realizing that if he's directly reacting to his father's influence, that means his father is still influencing him, and he needed to at least try to stake out his own path for a while.

The last episode has Stuart and company from Stuart Fails To Save The Universe bump into Stewart, HALogram and Sinestro and exclaim "Oh, we're in the wrong universe again!"
