There' s a very good reason Chad is a hired gun in the music industry. His studio work is legendary.

He sure has come a long way from his humble beginnings as the cowbell player for Blue Oyster Cult.

I will never get tired of watching his drumeo session. He’s so much fun to watch. Absolute genius.

the craziest thing is he is supposed to listen to the track and then come up with something but he listens to like 20-30 seconds and just bang, hes playing like hes the actual drummer.

I love the fact that Chad didn't get the memo at all... Rather than sit and listen to the track and plan what he was going to do, he just jumps straight in and improvises on the fly... And IMO it was better than the original. That's why Chad is Chad.

Something that's easy to miss right at the beginning of this Drumeo video (not included here) is that this came IMMEDIATELY after the Thirty Seconds To Mars video. He did both of these in back-to-back one-takes, maybe 6 minutes apart.

That breakdown section was freaking dope. This is way better than the original lol. He adds SO MUCH texture to the song

Love Chad’s version versus the original

I love that you caught Chad looking and locking in and then going for it. Chad IMO improved the song and did a perfect job. I would not generalize his performance to drummers. He is one of a kind.

Chad is just feeling the music and went into a zone...  just letting the music flow through him and he is adding his drum bit to it.  pretty cool

Chad Smith would be my top pick for a studio drummer on any rock or pop album.

Another good one but you should’ve taken it to the end where he improvs again while listening to the studio version and kills it solo style. ♥️
