His father is in the video. His father had stage 4 kidney disease. He only had one kidney because he donated one for someone else years ago. Immediate family was found not to be able to donate. James's father was weeks, maybe months from dying. As a result of this video, a distant cousin in Australia offered and was found to be a match. The father is doing well now, subject to the anti-rejection drugs transplant recipients must take.

They were both in the British army and each time they were deployed they said goodbye saying we’re just two men saying goodbye❤️🎼❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧

No matter how many times I hear this song I cry!  His dad survived, thank God - but this was his goodbye to him when he was at death's door.

❤ This song saved his dads life .   check out no bravery about his time  serving in the military the original video ,actually check out all his song hes worth it  ,great reaction

No bravery is hitting hard ,carry you home and good bye my lover. All beautiful songs showing how genius he is

That's about the Daddy you are going to be. Your Daddy taught his descents everything.

Amazing, heartfelt, pure reaction... what an old soul you have 🙏 God Bless.

My dad passed in 2021 from kidney failure secondary to his Parkinson’s disease medications.  He was 91, and going on dialysis would have required he go off the meds, and he felt that would ruin the quality of whatever time he had left.   Instead, he went on hospice, and went with such bravery and dignity.   Despite having all his mental faculties throughout, he did have hallucinations in the last 2 weeks. Often yelling out in fear, or waking up crying.   I would hold his hand and reassure him that I wa there, and it was my turn to protect him.  When I first heard this song, I absolutely broke at the lyric ‘it’s my turn to chase the monsters away’, because indeed that was the role reversal of those final days.   I’m so happy James’ dad found a kidney donor and is able to have more time building memories with his family,

On a good note, when they finished making the video his father looked at everyone that were all crying and asked  "Why's everyone crying, I'm still here ."

I was 19 when my dad died and I never got to say goodbye to him. I still miss you and love you dad. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

The girl that never was

Loveeeee real reactions like yours thank you

Nice reaction. James Blunt writes the best, most emotional songs. I’ve seen most of the ones I’d recommend in the comments already.

I lose it every time I watch this. I miss my parents so much, I pray I see them again in heaven. Really enjoyed your thoughts and insights. Wish you the best going forward! Peace from Northern Michigan.

I love your reaction. This song hits deep for me because I never got to say goodbye 😢

Brilliant in every posible way.

Your reaction was mine when I first heard this song. It tore me up. I was bawling. I couldn't get through this video. Lyrically deep emotional brilliant.

Go check out The Girl Who Never Was, No Bravery, and Carry You Home.

Really appreciated you reaction. I hope you react to more of his videos, They are always heartfelt. James is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. Carry Me Home is powerful. All the Love I Ever Needed is also beautiful

You should react to " You're Beautiful" by him...
