You've heard of the Philippou's "Bring Her Back" now get ready for Lee Cronin's "Put That Thing Where It Came From Or So Help Me"

ngl, considering lee cronin is irish, i was initially expecting this to be about bog mummies— now THAT would've been a fresh take on the mummy genre

I gotta say, whoever embalmed did a pretty bad job. Anubis will not be claiming this one

This is a dumb thing to get caught up on but they find a half alive girl in a sarcophagus in the jungle AND A BUG COMES OUT OF HER and shes showing severe illness syptoms and they SHIP HER TO THE US WITHOUT A SINGLE VACCINE????? They dont make sure she doesnt have any seeds or parasites or eggs in or on her that could spread to another place????

Ah yes. My daughter has been kept paralyzed, unaged in a sarcophagus for EIGHT GOD DANG YEARS and is having violent episodes when shes just conscious. LET ME JUST LOCK HER UP AGAIN THAT SHOULD HELP HER CALM DOWN

Lee Cronin really just reheated his own nachos and threw a couple jalapeños on top and called a meal when he made Evil Dead Sarcophagus.

Not one logical decision was made by the family in the film, damn. Pretty impressive tbh

The doctors told the parents "She's American, so....idk.... get her McDonald's or something."

Oh yeah. No. If you introduce the wrong types of food to someone who has not eaten in EIGHT YEARS and somehow didn't die, you will kill them.

It's still so baffling to me that the parents were allowed to take her back home almost immediately? Aside from the obvious amount of care she needs, I feel as though in any other movie this would be some sort of international incident? No nosy scientists curious about how a child was able survive for years inside a sarcophagus? No reporters? No government agents? Nothing?
At least in Bring Her Back, it was relatively small in scale and all the horrors were contained in a isolated home against foster children. Each character had reasons for not going to the authorities until it was too late.
But here it was... because the mom really didn't want to leave her? And the hospital was just like, "Yep, seems legit."

So it’s not even a mummy horror movie, it’s just your regular demon possession movie? That’s disappointing.

i can't suspend my disbelief that she would be immediately brought to her parents, either.

25:58 For how edgy and gruesome all the horror scenes up until now seemed, it's WILD that the kids just... are okay?
Katie slurped her grandma like a caprisun, Maude has teeth back, and Seb bludgeoned himself.

It feels like such a cop-out, especially after movies like Bring Her Back and WEAPONS, where being hollowed out by a supernatural entity with no regards for their hosts' physical and mental wellbeing has actual consequences!

This is the worst thing you can use the mummy for. Can for ONCE we actually use PROPER Deities from Egyptian Cosmology like Seth or Apothis!

Just watched a documentary where they mumiffied an english man named Alan and the whole time im thinking "Alan wouldn't do this"

I think it could have been better if Katie was terrorising the hospital workers instead and the family when they have visits with her. Also the toe scene OMG 😂

they never went to a hospital cuz they knew insurance would never cover it

Even if you had a person who had simply been in a coma for 8 years and had woken up with no additional medical or psychiatric problems, home medical care from a nurse wouldn't be enough. At a bare minimum, they would also need regular appointments with a physical therapist and probably also an occupational therapist. Katie's clawed hands could be the result of atrophy of the extensor muscles (the muscles that straighten the fingers) due to a lack of use, but she should be seeing a physical therapist for that.

This "mummy" movie was like watching a vampire movie but the vampire is just a possessed guy with sharp teeth. Legit disappointing

It was supposed to be called "The Possession" or something like that, slapping a Mummy label on it was so fucking lazy.
