Not to think too hard about these movies, but I think the punishment for the families' failure is proportional to how easy it should be to kill the bride. They have every advantage, so if they still lose, Le Bail says f*ck you, loser.

Andie MacDowell constantly leaves supportive mom comments on Margaret Qualley's social media and it's genuinely the cutest thing in the world.

So the first Ready or Not was the first movie my partner and I saw in a cinema together. Fast forward seven years, we are getting married this week and took our wedding party to see the sequel!

Tbh I think if they continue this it would be better to make it an anthology thing and leave grace alone because that story is basically complete with this second one yknow

@ajraven5145 6 months ago

Grace asking to marry Sarah Michelle Gellar instead of Titus would have been such a nice twist!

"Does satan need legal counsel"??? He was playing the Devil's advocate!!!

Not too deep but always thought in the first Ready or Not that the hide and seek game card was only triggered for good people being married in. Looking at the Le Domas fam, everyone who was married in and got a non-lethal game was also a terrible terrible person. Souls that the devil would get anyways. So by triggering hide and seek for the good person, bride or groom, Le Bail got a shot at the soul of someone good and decent.

Spoilers for both movies!

Kevin Durand’s death in RoN2 recontextualizes the climax of RoN. Elijah Woods says he died because he attempted to cheat & in doing so he doomed his entire bloodline. It stands to reason that had Aunt Helene not attempted to kill Grace after Grace already won, the Le Domas family may have survived.

Grace technically inherited two massive fortunes (Le Domas and Danworth) in just a couple days of extremely hard work. Meritocracy done right! I could see the Lawyer making it all legal.

To continue the series I think they should go backwards. Show me how each of the families got into the deal. Each one is from different time periods and seemingly different geographic locations which would make for variety in lore options and games.

You know Bael, Le Beal... whatever he is called, realized after Grace wiped out the first family, he could use her to purge all the others. Basically so he could start over, and they wouldn't be as powerful as the long lasting families once were. Thank you for cleaning house.

@OrabitsMadness 6 months ago

I reckon Le Bail was just bored and tired of dealing with providing them power and saw Grace as a way of getting out of it. He likes playing games and it's no fun when the same people always win

Ready or Not and You're Next are hands down some of the best final girl movies. Both leads are so badass.

One of my thoughts on the ending of the sequel is the idea that Le Bail pulled Grace into all of this because he was TRYING to clean house. Like, the devil looked at what these people were doing, how they lived their lives, and said "I may be the Devil, but I'm not THAT evil." But he also knew that the rules established bind him as much as them, which is why he couldn't just kill them himself.

The funniest part of this movie is how they tried to make me care about their estranged relationship. The sister by no means ruins the movie, but man did I get annoyed when they’d be talking in the open not checking anything (the first time they do this they even get shot at! Check your surroundings!)

14:28 i actually do think this might be kind of a rule within the family. You cant really marry someone from another high class family if there's a risk that person could die. The other family wouldn't stand for one of their own getting murdered. But you marry people with little means or family, then no one bats an eye if they go missing

28:45 you didn’t take it too dark. I’m starting to realize some rich bored very bad people eat children. The boogeyman is real. My childhood fears are real.

@shelbydan 4 months ago

i DO NOT condone hitting children but there’s something cathartic about seeing a woman on screen absolutely bodying a snotty little boy. i think it has something to do with being told your whole life that women are naturally nurturing and motherhood fundamentally changes you and all that bs. it’s like a complete subversion of what has been drilled into us, which is to be gentle and adopt a motherly aspect with all children.
