The Quarantine Movies Are Terrible | Series Retrospective

It's Quaran-time! What are the differences between REC and Quarantine? What's REALLY going on in that attic? Will the zombie monkeys and fish return from the REC series? Join me as we walk through yet another infected-infested apartment with our good friend Deb from Dexter, as she unravels the rat-filled mysteries within in 2008's masterpiece, Quarantine! Coming out of the good ol' U-S-of-A, Quarantine is a remake of the Spanish found footage horror film, REC, a movie we've already watched together. It was a grand old time. Quarantine 2: Terminal is NOT a remake of REC 2. No no, it's horrific all by itself. There's a plane in it.

Have YOU seen either Quarantine film? What's the best found footage horror movie out there? Am I completely wrong in every single opinion I have? Let me know 👇

Yeah, the first Quarantine is a completely useless remake but...I will say this again and again and again: REC is NOT a zombie movie. It's about demonic possession, which spreads like a viral disease. And that was the coolest idea of the original.

Rec felt like you were actually following a camera crew. Quarantine feels like you're watching a bunch of actors

I didn't hate Quarantine 2, but I actually think Flight of the Living Dead did a better job of zombies on a plane. (Better...not good. Just better.)

I have seen Quarantine, a long time ago. I don't remember much about it except thinking it was worse than REC in every way. I think I was vaguely aware that a sequel existed? Knew nothing about it until this video.

Excellent video! This was worth subscribing. 👍

You can check a gun as long as its unloaded. So the scene is fine.

I only watched the first one and I liked it.

The point of the Rec remake is simple: RACISM. It's a brilliant movie but you've got way too many people in America who simply won't watch media from other countries. So they take a cool horror film from a different contry, film it in Hollywood with a white cast and boom, instant money. It was... kind of a thing for several years, though they mostly borrowed Japanese movies during that time. Ring, Pulse... I'll forgive The Grudge cause they brought the original director from Japan over to do that one.
That said, I dunno, Quarantine 2 just hits for me. Is it good? No. Am I entertained? Yes. Maybe it's the setting, airports are underrated and underused as a setting for horror flicks.
