The next Jurassic Park movie should show a Velociraptor sneaking on some unsuspecting visitors wandering through the park, launch a surprise attack and run off with their French Fries.

Even more mind-blowing is that T. rex lived 66 million years ago; but T. rex existed much closer in time to modern humans than it did to Stegosaurus!

Canadians know dinosaurs are not extinct----we have Canada Geese.

One interesting irony of the resurrection of "Brontosaurus" as a valid genus is that if it is true that the specimens still labelled "Apatosaurus" really did have the more robust bones, THEY are the ones who would be more appropriately named "Brontosaurus", whereas the name "Apatosaurus", which means "deceptive lizard" , is actually a pretty apt name for the specimens now returned to "Brontosaurus" thanks to all the confusion they have caused over all these years!

Another BS Dinosaur belief that should be mentioned: Oil does not come from dead dinosaurs.

1:03 Just one minute in, but if one of the “fake facts” about dinosaurs is that they are extinct I will be cross with the writer of this episode. I have palm-sized dinosaurs living in my lilac bushes year-round. I know they are not extinct because they occasionally poop on my car and I have to clean it off before it ruins the finish.

The irony of a myth busting video where they use an image of an ostrich with its head in the sand.

There was this cute joke about some brontosauruses standing in the rain with Noah's arc fighting in the background. 'Oh, heck, was that today??' 🙂

As a paleoartist, I always enjoy new videos about dinosaurs because they're my favorite animals to illustrate. As a fan of Simon Whistler, I always enjoy new videos about dinosaurs so I can watch him squirm as he stumbles through pronouncing their names.

The question you were discussing, of whether or not Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus are the same genus, suddenly paled into insignificance when you misread "phylogenetic" as "phytogenetic", thus accidentally reclassifying the entire Diplodocidae family as plants.

One of my favorite facts is that "Birds are dinosaurs, but not Bird-hipped dinosaurs."

We need more videos with all these big words. I love the topics, but Simon trying to pronounce stuff is just icing on the cake.

Regarding the whole T. rex can't see you if you don't move, that was an over simplification by the movie of what was said in the original novel. In the original novel it was said that the T. rex couldn't see you if you stood still was because it was recreated using amphibian DNA to fill in the blanks, and it was the amphibian DNA that gave it its motion based vision. However, I've read somewhere that while frogs and toads do indeed have movement based vision they don't exactly just give up once their prey stops moving. They know that their prey is still there, somewhere, and will do things to try to  "trick" their prey into moving so that they can "see" them again.

Uhm... Your Yucatan impact looked suspiciously like either the Santorini volcanic eruption or an meteor impact in the Mediterranean Sea.

The extinction event with an impact off what is now the Yucatan Peninsula, the vid shows an impact incident in the Mediterranean somewhere between Italy and Malta.

2:10 I wasn't aware that the Yucatan peninsular is in the Mediterranean Sea.

29:55 so rather than dinosaurs eating us, we eat them! 😂

The whole "they can't see you if you don't move" even as a child made no sense to me. I thought.. "so.. did the T-rex spend most of it's days with a massive headache on account of running into trees and cliffs?"

6:55 Also because Dimetrodon was in The Land Before Time-movie, so people assumed it was a dinosaur.

Milo Rossi, without breaking a sweat: "Sahelanthropus  tchadensis"
Simon: "Good lord"
