The most delicious irony is that the description of the channel that has this video about misused common expressions includes the sentence "And if the topic peaks your interest..." instead of the correct "And if the topic piques your interest..." 😂

I always cringe when I hear the 'young ones' online saying, "I was lost for words", instead of "I was at a loss for words."

In 'Casablanca' the misquote you're actually referring to occurs later in the movie when Rick (Bogart) says "You played it for her, you can play it for me. Play it Sam" not "Play it again Sam."

Even the English now say Wrong when they should say Incorrectly. I always find it funny when adjective abuse is used in an attempt to correct grammar.

Irregardless is NOT a word. This is a hill I will die on.

My favorite misquote is "the proof is in the pudding.' which makes no sense. The actual expression is "the proof of the pudding is in the eating." i.e. if it tastes good it was done right.

Fun Fact. I looked into the history of the phrase to "throw under the bus". I was wondering if it predated the invention of buses. Well, it does, by a lot. Before buses, is was a train that you threw someone under. Then a carriage. It goes all the way back to being thrown under a bridge, several hundreds of years ago.
