Soooo the video is way longer than the 2 seconds it would be to say the answer. Which is “No.” 😂

"Why did water come out?" I also went to a Jesus school for part of my youth. I remember being taught in chapel once that there is a medical condition that when one is under extreme stress, the chest cavity can fill with fluid. The speaker was positing that being crucified didn't kill Jesus; it was the stress of having everyone's sins placed upon him. What a wild way to guilt trip an auditorium of middle schoolers, eh?

Shortest Simon video ever;
“Are any of the Jesus Christ relics authentic? No. No they’re not. See you next time!” 😂

We can get script readers anywhere, but the rants and tangents are why we come here

There is a famous story about the bones of the three holy kings which are stored in my hometown Cologne, Germany, where scientists from Bayer Pharma tested the bones and did carbon dating. They tested and analyzed for months, sat down at a press conference and said: "The chance that these bones actually belonged to the three holy kings approach zero."

Wife: "Look, Jesus appeared on my tortilla!"
Husband: "That's great dear; I'll put it with the others."

With respect to the Shroud of Turin: apply a little geometry and thought. Take a human head analogue (manikin, hair dresser dummy, etc). Lay it face up and paint the high parts -- foreheads, cheekbones, chin. Then drape a cloth over it such that the raised bits hit the cloth. Then take the cloth off and look at it. Because of the way the geometry works in three dimensions, it looks nothing like a face painted on the cloth. It will be distorted. The Shroud of Turin is a painting. Age doesn't matter -- it's not a burial shroud with the image of the deceased.

Creator of a vast universe we can't even comprehend, but too shy to show himself.
Yes, that makes so much sense ...

The OG Simon is back! We love the snark! Please continue!
There was a large cottage industry in Europe making relics in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Baldrick - "I am. I thought they only came in boxes of ten."

0:43 I'm so glad to see that this nail has the correct entrance on the arm, so many people think the nail went through the hand. Where this nail is placed is the strongest part to keep the weight of the body when crucified, the same for the feet, one nail through both feet.

"can we clone Jesus? Bring him back!" is absolutely sending me

6:15 Golgotha is the hill where Jesus was crucified, and fun fact for any gamers: the G-Virus in Resident Evil is actually the Golgotha Virus. It causes regeneration, and Golgotha is where Jesus died before he was resurrected. Honestly, the Lazarus Virus would have fit better, but I guess the L-virus doesn't have the same ring to it.

In the book Innocents Abroad, Mark Twain spends a fair amount of time discussing these relics, and St. Helena who according to Twain, found everything for which she searched.

The Jan Hus quote being accompanied by the pic of him getting burned at the stake gave me a good laugh. Savage

My thoughts after listening: religion is basically an ARG and a relic means other players accept the claim. Like, they are all probably "fake" for extremely obvious reasons, but someone is like "Oh, I have the head lamp of the messiah!" Yeah, the one mentioned in the gospel where Jesus visits the mines!

And some people will believe it, some people will dismiss it, but if it remains for long enough it gets to be part of the canon.
