There was an XFM segment called “Do We Need Em?”, where every week Karl would call up an animal expert and ask them what certain animals do 😂

@Tass... 3 years ago

The "do we need them?" segment that Karl brought to Ricky and Steves XFM radio show was pure gold. This is kind of a spin off but not nearly as funny.

The museum is the Natural History Museum in London, probably one of the most famous museums and THE museum for the study of natural history. So more effort is put into the fancy exhibits. Its free entry to! Many of the samples and taxidermy animals were collected by Charles Darwin

you could take any of Karl's appearances on a morning show and the like and it'd be content
Karl's the content god

5:18 oh this is what Wendy was watching..

Armstrong only went to the Moon once, so it's can't be nice enough to want to go back. One of Karls all time great takes! :D

That was a lot of thoughts ...for Karl! There's a kind of mad logic to all his ideas if you don't think too deeply. Incidentally, the natural history museum in London is amazing, and the dinosaurs do look real, and it's FREE. Karl never mentioned that! Haha 😜😅😅

9:50 As Karl explains the Dodo was phased out & replaced by the chicken. People were late for work because their eggs took too long to boil.

...by all accounts they didn't taste good, but they were easy to catch and the options weren't great either when you'd been on a sail ship for months without a freezer.

Several of these random thoughts and stories are expanded on in the XFM radio show. Despite it being an afternoon London radio show, most of the show is Ricky , Steve and Karl talking nonsense often on levels youd never get away with now 😅 Its VERY unfiltered Karl

In the Ricky Gervais show series 3 episode 1 this short essay from Karl "we know too much" is discussed. Somebody called 'Wendy' from Berkshire gets a letter published in.the Sunday Times where she's having a pop at Karls short channel 4 vid and the lads obviously use it to make fun of Karl 😂😂 - but he does fire back at Wendy from Berkshire 😂.

Ahh yes the second episode was the one that the old lady wrote about and Karl got upset. We are still awaiting Wendy's little programme 😅

15:01 see them little tiles he was removing and grouting when ricky kept calling him from the radio?

He is extremely thoughtful for someone with limited brain power. I think that's why he went bald.. head overheating all the time, not great conditions for the hair. Loved this! 🤗

Dodos were unable to fly, so were hunted to extinction when humans arrived on their island. Chickens can't fly either, but they're farmed so that there are always plenty of them.

@siwillz365 3 years ago

“Didn’t they die out cos they were delicious?” Is the most Karl thing Mandy has ever said🤣🤣

@Lily33McC 3 years ago

The Dodo became extinct due to deforestation, hunting, and destruction of their nests by animals brought to the Island (in the Indian Ocean) by the Dutch. It’s thought they might not have always been flightless.

@wildwine6400 3 years ago

Fyi the dodo went extinct as it was a flightless bird that was indigenous to one island and the settlers hunted it to extinction. So once it was gone from there that was it. That has happened with many animals indigenous to one place
