Watch An Idiot Abroad, all of them

The ricky gervais show is basically that

That ending was amazing 😂 you two are so cute!! Can't wait for more Karl reactions ❤

Karl once mentioned a motorcyclist in London who crashed into a lamppost and his head came off. He was wearing a helmet so his head was fine, it just wasn't attached to his body.

"Singing happy birthday for the 8th time that day" It wipes me out every time 😂😂😂😂😂😂

18:51 You got it

Didn't know about elephants and buns: In old-fashioned UK imagery, elephants are often described as eating “buns,” meaning sweet bread rolls, like the kind people might feed to animals at the zoo a century ago.

It comes from early 1900s Britain when visitors at zoos would actually buy little buns to feed to elephants (and other animals), so “elephants like buns” became a kind of quaint cliché in children’s books and nursery rhymes.

13:35 "Right, get some more buns in"
It's hard to explain why that is funny here in England.

yeeesss! good choice guys

Karl pilkington debates Jordan Peterson genius 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I need to see that

Yes!!!   What a great reaction from you guys!  The thing to understand Karl is really to have started with this “getting to know” video (and definitely the second one). That helps understanding Karl better in later videos (including the Idiot Abroad series which you HAVE to do).

He is not a comedian (by profession) and is not a trained actor.  He really is primarily just being himself.  Of course he understands the comedic setting when he is with Ricky and Stephen but he really is just being himself.  Just very literal with a specific and simple view on the world around him.  (Not that he is simple as that’s not true but he just has an uncomplicated perspective on life. Which is what Ricky picked up on from him and shared it with us.).

Loved your laughter and reactions guys!  Always great.   I love the Goering being surprised right as he is being hung scenario.  And Karl’s head bouncing after the beheading. Lmao.

And I’ve got to go with Weronika on Usain Bolt just plopping on the ground after the starting gun.  And even if somehow the legs remembered to just GO…there’s no way he stays in his lane.

And, please feel free to put on captions if you have trouble understanding the accent.  Especially Karl has a distinctive way of speaking that can be hard to take in what he is saying before he’s on to the next sentence.).

Manky, Manchester. 💕. Though tongue in cheek, imo, as Manchester the best.

Weronika's grandma was a baby.. that had a baby!

13:50 he said "Right, get some more buns in".. this is based on the stereotype that elephants like eating buns (so the "elephant man" must too, right). Easy to miss that one 🧁🐘

20:05 "ornaments".. they're stereotypical trinkets old people have in their houses. Little crystals or statues of birds or whatever

Karl isn't a character. I think Dianne Morgan definitely used him as inspiration for coming up with Philomena Cunk.. but this is just how Karl Pilkington is naturally. His brain is a bit demicky

"Learn English with Ricky Gervais" (with Karl) is a one off pilot.. it wasn't a whole series. So either that or Meet Karl Pilkington 2 would be a good one to do next

Great reaction, looking forward to more :)

🥰

The  learn English with Ricky Gervais  is hilarious, please do that next.

He said get some more buns in. Elephants are said to like to eat buns. The auto generated subtitles should work fine on these videos. I tried them on this as I'm watching, but YouTube picked up buns as bums, which would definitely give the wrong meaning.

If Harry Kane had black hair, id swear you were him! Great reaction, great channel guys. Ireland says hello! 🙂

What you couldn't understand in the Elephant Man bit was "get some more buns". I had your same reaction the first time I watched it, since I didn't quite understand what he said, but even when I finally did I didn't get the joke 😆I had to google about it to learn that in the UK there's this popular myth that elephants love sticky buns, so since the patient here was the Elephant Man, the doctor immediately thought of bringing those buns 😂

Karl is Karl. That is him.
Ricky finds him to be... special. And what Ricky does is take special people and exploit them for a laugh.
On the other side of that coin, they are actually pretty good friends.
