80s was the best decade for horror movies

Scanners explains the main characters behavior. He never got treatment for his condition and never integrated into society. Him being strange was the entire role.

Legend has it, he's just waiting for the day when someone just says "alright, Quintin" in response to his question

I can listen to him talk all day

I’m surprised there was no mention of An American Werewolf in London! It also came out in 1981, and is an American masterpiece! The story is great, the FX are all practical and fucking sensational! They were so good it won Rick Baker
(The man behind the FX) an Oscar…. Anyway the movie is fucking awesome and I’m surprised they didn’t mention it.

"Nightmare City" starred Hugo Steiglitz. QT named a German character in "Inglorious Basterds" after him, although he was actually Mexican.

The Omen, The Exorcist, The Thing, Hereditary, The Witch, Rosemary’s Baby - all masterpieces but The Shining outshines them all.

7:17 Once again, Quentin Tarantino loves a script by John Sayles, Alligator!

Carnival of Souls (1962) scares me.

I’m beginning to reevaluate the people you cast in your films like cubic exposing the networks behind the stories using the very people in the networks. Fascinating.

The thing is fucking fantastic. I first saw it at 5 years old on a vhs tape that my dad recorded off tv.Needless to say I was a bit traumatised and didn’t watch it again until about 20 years later. My god,rob bottom’s practical effects are still really,REALLY disgusting and horrific.love it!

Return of the living Dead had the first running “zombies” that I ever saw in the movies in 1985. Remake of dawn and 28 Days later came out much later

I never get tired of Quentin sayin "innnfected peepul", I listen to it every time it's repeated on this channel.

That’s funny that Quentin was the first ever person ever attacked for referring to an infected person as a zombie

The Canadian actor playing the bald guy is Louis Del Grande and he did have his own show in the early 80s called "Seeing Things" he's actually a really good actor...

I still really like "Happy Birthday to Me". I especially liked the bridge accident scene. I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet. 🙂 John Carpenters "The Thing" is pure nightmare fuel! I am a HUGE horror move fan and I still find it tough to watch. It is terrifying.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974, Halloween II (1981), The Shining (1980), The Thing (1982), Hell Night (1981), Evil Dead (1980), Friday the 13th (1980), Creepshow (1982), Graveyard Shift (1990) are still some of the best horror films.
