The Jeepers Creepers Movies - From Cult Classic To Cinematic Enema

JB's Spooky Review

Jeepers Creepers had everything it needed to become one of horror’s biggest modern franchises. Instead, across four movies, increasingly questionable creative decisions, long gaps between sequels and controversy behind the scenes sent the series into a seemingly never-ending decline.

Today we’re looking back at all four Jeepers Creepers movies, how they were made, what worked, what went wrong, and how one of horror’s most promising monsters eventually ended up in Jeepers Creepers: Reborn.

Yes I know the Licence plate is "be eating you", I was simply using the language the characters used in the movie.

The fact the bastard smiles in his mugshot. The fact he got work again shows there’s no saving Hollywood

I thought Jaws had the biggest downfall from grace but jeepers creepers was like "hold my beer"

Crazy that the director was a bigger monster then the one in the movie

When Trish runs the Creeper over multiple times...it was so cathartic. The first time I had ever seen a horror movie, and the character onscreen actually does the smart thing you are screaming for them to do, instead of the usual stupid horror movie thing they do.

I like to imagine the creeper in the dmv getting custom plates for his tricked out shitbox

Super random fact about Jeepers Creepers 2. The scene with the knife flying out of his hand was supposed to show that its trying to get back to the Creeper, thats why he attaches it to the harpoon gun because it basically gives it auto aim, always making sure it hits the Creeper.

Victor saying “flirting with the kids” is crazy work

Dude, the first Jeepers Creepers left a lasting impression on me when I first saw it when I was young. One of the main characters, with his eyes completely hollowed out, staring at the camera. Haunting.

When you mentioned the trailer being from the 90s, all that popped into my head was “In a world…….” 😂😂😂

Yo we’re back!!! I’ve been so excited for this one! When I was a kid, I snuck out into the woods with my best friend, my sister, and her best friend. We took with us a portable dvd player and this movie. We were all super sheltered kids so jeepers creepers was by far the scariest thing we’d ever seen. A truck drove past our hiding spot at one point and we all screamed. Many years later I watched it again and had a blast reminiscing. Thank you for covering it!

It’s not ‘beating you’. They think it is but it is ‘B Eating You’. The psychic alludes to this when Darry says ‘beating you?, referring to the creeper, and she says no think about it! (paraphrased).

It still amazes me that people were willing to work with Victor Salva despite everything he did bassically being public knowledge by that point.

I remember seeing the first one in theater with a packed house on opening weekend and I had NO CLUE what the movie was about. When I saw him throwing bodies down that Mario pipe, I was hooked. The lack of knowing what it looked like was just a great reveal.

This guy better bring up how the director went to jail for assaulting a child.

Edit: he did 👍

The bodies are meant to be treated with the chemicals on the table to have that porcelain look. It’s why they haven’t decayed in 23 years. They’d be skeletons otherwise. Later in the movie, the radio mentions that all the bodies were “preserved like marble” or something similar.

Jeepers Creepers is my favorite horror movie because of Jonathan Breck's performance as The Creeper. Fuck, he's so menacing.

16:18 lemmings have decent survival instincts when they're not being pushed off a cliff.

Anyone else notice at 56:51 that Salva looks eerily close to John Wayne Gacy's mugshot? The fact both of their unspeakable crimes involve clowns is also unsettling...
