This is our first time reaction to the 1974 Horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!
Disturbing and Weird would best describe this film. It did exactly what the makers intended, I think!

The first chainsaw was invented in the 1780s by Scottish doctors John Aitken and James Jeffray. It was a hand cranked chainsaw used to cut the pelvic bone during childbirth.

This movie has interesting, entertaining reactions when people watch it for the first time. Also, that looks like a bumblebee pillow pet, I love that! I had one when i was younger. I believe I still have it somewhere in storage.

Not my kinda movie at all, but cheers for watching it so that I can sort of say I've seen the abridged version!

It was more fun watching the text edits and slowdowns though, thanks for the extra effort there, greatly appriciated, makes this one much more fun!

Hello from Canada aside from the 1922 Nosferatu , the Exorcist , the 1970s Omen and the Shinning this movie is another horror classic fun fact this movie is loosely based on Ed Gein who was a Wisconsin serial killer grave robber and Necrophiliac who would rob graves wear their skin and make furniture out of the skin and more .

New subscriber, loved your reactions, I went back and watched some of your other ones and sorry you got a lot of negativity from The Exorcist, I personally love that film but I respect your opinion, you have your thoughts and thats fine, sadly people can't get that, its your channel and your views.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the 1st horror movie that truly scared the crap out of me I think I was only 12 and I couldn't sleep for weeks!

Want some horror, watch "The Fly", version with Jeff Goldblum.

This film is exactly as you describe it, though instead of weird, i would use dread. It is designed not to truly "scare", but to fill you with unease, discomfort, and ultimately dread. The sound design, the editing, even the method of production have only one goal...to brutally plunge the viewer into a dreadful situation, and let that dread grow with every second.

It does exactly what it set out to do...unnerve the crap outta you. It isnt scary...just intense and uncomfortable. Like the filming itself was.

A little weird background trivia: Cast members, crew and producers of TCM were cheated out of their fair, contracted share of the film's proceeds for years- distribution was handled by Bryanston Pictures which unbeknownst to the filmmakers was a Mafia front company set up to launder profits from the mega success of a certain adults only hit (rhymes with Deep Moat) they financed. Bryanston handled many other films, some like TCM were significant hits. Operators Lou Peraino and Butchie "The Whale" Peraino systematically underreported grosses and play dates, defrauding the filmmakers at the height of the film's success, leaving them a trickle of it's true revenue. This bitterly impacted the actors in particular, who's payment depended on points participation. After years of lawsuits and federal prosecution Bryanston's assets went into receivership and distribution rights for TCM were picked up by small but legit co New Line Cinema in the mid 80s. Finally the filmmakers began to see compensation for their gruelling efforts on the shoot.

This film goes down in History as the Best independent film I think they used what they had no special effects in reality this could happen Sally played by Marilyn Burns was just Awesome all the things she went through down to being beat with the broom to being cut with the knife were real also in Texas she got cut up with so many of the thorns when she get in the bush Tobe Hooper created a Cult Classic for the 70's I saw this as a kid at the Drive in and it will always stick with me.
