"On the contrary, I'm weak. Quite weak in fact. Which is why YOU need to learn this lesson." Knowing that Kessler is just Cole from future, this line makes an infinite amount of sense. By strengthening himself in the past, Kessler would be ensuring that whatever awaited Cole in the future would be something he'd be able to handle. What he didn't think about is the fact that without Trish, and without Zeke, Cole doesn't have a reason to give the fight his all, nor does he really have a reason to choose the moral high road.

I need to read the InFamous comics because the days IMMEDIATELY after the Blast are truly apocalyptic and how Cole really felt about his electrokinetic abilities at first. I never knew "zombies" existed in the city even though they never made it into the actual game

Infamous 1 being all about Cole being evil and trying to rationalize it all. Getting in the high of being powerful, while not aware that he was being led by the nose by Kessler up until the final battle. Infamous 2, after getting his ass kicked by the Beast in the prologue, had Cole reform himself. It was clear that his old ways did not work out, that he wasn't at the top of the Food Chain, the "Beast". At the same time realized he was being way too similar to Kessler, the future self he hates, just that Cole wasn't an outright coward (though causing that riot at the bridge is definitely the closest thing to it) in Empire City. So in New Marais, he cleaned up his act.

Even though this is a remake, it still felt super fresh

and you're still cultured af for liking infamous and goth girls

gotta love seeing infamous in 2025 great work man

Considering the fact that in order to completely take over the map you actually have to kill people. Not to mention the comics show him using red lightning, I'd say you're 100% correct.

F in chat for Zeke man.

Therefore, if we add real-life expectations here, it implies that there should be three choices: blue for heroism, red for evil, and ultimately gray, representing null karma and a pessimistic outcome like hurting innocent people in the process just to kill one enemy.

This is the best infamous video i’ve seen in a while(honestly i think i saw the original it’s been a long time), Cole being infamous in the first game just trying to survive and protect those he loves but being lost in that tunnel vision of “nothing matters as long as they’re safe” and trying to right his wrongs at the end and into the second game. This is my new head canon of how Cole “The Demon” becomes “The Saint”.

I personally think Good Cole is the best version of him

Looking out for the people around him despite his rough edges and how MISERABLE his situation is (Especially in inFAMOUS 1)
To the point where he sacrifices himself at the end of part two
There's something so powerful about that

Kinda got a Peter Parker thing going on, with great power comes great responsibility and all that

Between the video of the initial blast, the bridge destruction, the TV jacker attributing his good deeds to others, and Moya pinning everything she can on Cole, it makes perfect sense why people outside of Empire City would call Cole a demon, with no need for evil karma.

I’d like to mention that everyone turning against Cole at the beginning makes more sense if you took all the food. They’re already mad at you. It also makes Trish walking away more realistic.

22:21 ye that gave me a good chuckle too

I love that keslars lightning is white. Signifying that he is doing so much bad that it negates any good he is actually doing. Perhaps he is saving the world, perhaps he isn’t, what matters is what he thinks and he is to back and forth believes he is doing what’s right but knows he is being a villain.

When you take Infamous 2 into account, evil karma route in Infamous makes no sense. Evil Cole's epilogue is like "yeah right, like I care about stopping the Beast" and then six months later he's like "I gotta prepare to stop the Beast" and is obsessed with it throughout the entire second game. Plus Cole proving people wrong about how he's a demon makes the story far more compelling, in both games. In the first one, you have Dallas (the Voice of Survival) making up fake news about Cole's evil deeds, and in the second, it's Bertrand doing the same thing. Cole proves them wrong instead of proving their point, even when the people hate him.

Plus some of the evil decisions are a bit cartoonish and don't make sense. The "Open the Door" decision, you can tell Brandon his wife is dead so he'll open the door, or you can... shoot him through the door and the door magically opens? All of the tar decisions are similarly silly on both sides–Cole could just turn the nozzle from the side, or in the case of the kegs, IN GAME, Cole can just blast the kegs off from a different angle.

On your point about the "Demon of Empire City," it is clear that Cole has that reputation because of Dallas's propaganda, regardless of Cole's actual karmic choices. Literally everyone who could vouch for Cole's character dies at the beginning of the second game.

16:16 that is the cleanest F bomb I e heard all year

Take me back to when I first played these games 😭😭😭

I find that in infamous, "evil" karma is not about being the villain - you're the antihero.  You're not doing evil for the sake of evil, you're focused on your survival.  Even his arguably more immoral acts can be defended - hoarding food is "me and mine first", shutting down the protestors is an attempt to protect himself and his conduit friends from aggression, and even ultimately siding with the Beast is presented as an alternative to using the Ray Field Inhibitor, which would theoretically save the world at the expense of the lives of every conduit on the planet.  Infamous Cole is not some mustache twirling villain - he's a hardened pragmatist with a bleak view of reality, and at points even an antihero.

Thank you for being honest about the highs and lows of morality and conscience. Our refusal to acknowledge our uglier sides limits us more than we realize.

22:00 yea you're not the only one who laughed hard at this one. Bruh i lost my sh*t and soda as I was thinking about it
