My beef with waiting over a year for peak

My main gripe is how the relationship with Kate is forced and how the game acts like you're wrong for not pursuing. Like they're saying "if you don't go with her you endorse David's abuse".

Sorry, but that's not something most would do. That's his sister in law. Regardless of how she feels, it's completely reasonable for Javi to not want to be with her. Especially since it would make things weird for Gabe. Not wanting Kate isn't saying she should be with David!!!

its funny how the antagonist here is a politician even in the zombie apocalypse

Reminder that Duck ate mark like a god damn thanks giving turkey

my beef with kate is i wanted to stay neutral and just be her friend but she straight up betrays you if you reject her and gets david to turn on you and is willing to let gabe get kidnapped to save a town that was willing to let them all die. and if gabe dies at the end of the game kate talks about starting their own family while looking at the memorial board. i found this so insensitive and shows to me how kate only really cared about herself in the long run

I kinda disagree that the game doesn't show why Kate doesn't wanna be with David- that scene where she breaks the glass and freaks out about how pissy David is gonna be and that she believed he'd care more about the glass than her getting hurt (and he did). I can absolutely see how living with David was walking on eggshells for her, trying not to piss him off. I don't think he was a bad person but I think it was that soldier thing where he tried to run his family like the military and that very much doesn't seem like Cate's thing. And then when you meet your anger issues husband years into the apocalypse with the people you know shot his own daughter, you can only imagine what he's like now. I don't blame her for not wanting him near her. (just wanna add im NOT a david hater i absolutely agree he's probs the most interesting character)

My beef is

1. Ruining Eleanor which makes no sense
2. Keep forcing us the players to romance Javi's sister in law
3. We werent allowed to romance Eleanor; and
4. Almost none of our choices mean anything

As much as I didn't like them killing Kenny that way, I don't think it's a character assassination or out of character. Kenny is a man defined by being a father, and nothing is more stereotypical dad than teaching his daughter how to drive or sacrificing himself for his children. It's just really dumb that that's how they chose to take him out.

i feel like the game was pretty clear that david had a bad temper when still living with kate, to the point of at the Very least verbal abuse. i read it like being back to civilian life after experiencing trauma in the army led him to having unresolved anger issues, which resulted in frequently lashing out at kate. with how quick he is to violence making extreme choices in general over the course of the game, i think it makes perfect sense why kate didn't want to be with him anymore

Best ending is staying at Wellington, Kenny leaves and is able to be headcannoned to be alive, and you don't break his heart as you give him closure.

I don't understand how in the world you thought Jane did what she did because she was afraid of being vulnerable for 9 months rather than not being able to cope with the thought of being a mother and having to bring a baby into the apocalypse. I understand hating that it happened, but Janes decision makes sense for her character as far as I'm concerned. It was an incredibly stupid and selfish decision, but I understand why she did it.

It's a shame season 3 was so hated when it has so many strong moments. The conversation with David on the roof being my favorite moment in the entire series.

For Jane’s death, I personally think it would have made more sense if she died accidentally by trying to give herself an abrtion (spelt it wrong so it doesn’t get flagged) because I agree that her choosing to end it and leave Clem all alone is out of character for her by that point.

Gabe is easily the worst character. Rather than giving him an arc about him understanding why the adults around him treat him like a kid, they instead try to get him to "be a man." Despite his constant immaturity.

Correction (according to Steam guide) Clementine's decision to go with Kate or chase after Gabe is NOT determined by Javi's decisions. Apparently it's tied to 3 decisions you make as Clementine in the flashbacks: joining Ava, stealing medicine for Alvin and spitting in David's face. I'd love to hear from Telltale devs how that determines Javi's relationship with Clem, but that's what they went with.

Jane was unstable and prone to abandonment. Her killing herself because of the prospect of bringing a life into the world that she would be compelled to protect indefinitely is exactly in line with her character. She abandons people out of fear of losing them and/or perceiving them as burdens so having another blood relative to potentially lose would be overwhelming.

the worst part of the scenario is everyone living off of expired food

“My beef”❌ recap the whole game✅

Honestly I never thought Jane’s decision was out of character. Being pregnant and giving birth even with modern medicine is horrific and dangerous. In an apocalypse without a group? That’s a death sentence. She doesn’t even have anything to get rid of it with. She’s screwed. Shes going to die either in childbirth or beforehand and her trying to stay alive will only burden clementine more. I mean, seriously, how is a twelve year old supposed to take care of a baby and a pregnant lady. I think people forget how much of a toll pregnancy has on a person. My sister couldn’t put her own shoes on for a month or two before she had her baby. You need to be well nourished for a baby or it will literally dissolve your bone strength to feed itself (well your body will). You can have major hormonal problems and possibly depression or psychosis.

Her world was over, she was basically already dead and Clem and AJ couldn’t handle any more disadvantages. I can see why she decided it. Just because she’s strong doesn’t mean she isn’t still very sad

idk why people act like david is just some misunderstood anti hero. he abandoned his family and forced javier to take the responsibility, he was constantly irate and abusive to javier, he found countless ways to shit on javier (in front of gabe.), and even when gabe died, david abandoned them again.
