The EVA armor NOT protecting the EVA from outside but protecting outside from EVA was a pretty surprising and awesome turn of events.

Do NOT let Shinji near any hospital

@NeedForMadnessSVK 1 year ago

The most unrealistic part of this story is UN not being entirely useless

@Turkeysandwhichfromsubway 1 year ago

So you’re really telling me this show wasn’t about robots fighting monsters

@enlighteighty1204 2 years ago

Shinji isn't riding a train to the last stop, he's on the Yamanote line which is a continuous loop, unending.

@its_vintage2601 2 years ago

"Shinji get in the robot"
"No"
"Rei get in the ro-"
"Alright fine I'll do it"

So many issues would've been avoided if they just add a therapy center in NERV

@mangrovenkrabbe 1 year ago

For any non German speakers:
Seele = soul
Gehirn = brain
Nerv = nerve
Wille = will (in the sense of wish/intention)

And a bunch of other German used with Asuka that's mostly not quite accurate but we don't mind.

Thanks for the great video!

Mommy and daddy issues: the mecha anime

Ive never heard someone explain this anime so well. So often when people try talking about this show the make it sound even more confusing. That's an achievement

Editing skills? Check. Clear, understandable, and engaging storytelling? Check. Deep and meaningful message? Check. You did great on this <3

Went from 'Shinji crank that soulja boy" to completely traumatized and dumbfounded

@Blokk_k 2 years ago

Ive seen like 5 memes from this show and now im watching this, did not expect "existential crisis the anime"

@getit6775 2 years ago

The comments told me that people watch Evangelion and have an existential crisis but I had an existential crisis and Evangelion made me see the light

When a guy called evan gets a gelion

I just wanna point out, on the beach, Asuka doesnt just say "disgusting". What she days more closely translates to "You're disgusting" or "You disgust me".

She isnt talking about the situation at hand, shes talking about shinji, specifically. I think it really highlights the duality of man. The notion that two completely opposing ideas can co exist in the same head.

Shes disgusted with shinji. But she still cares about him and is still able to show him affection. A recurring theme in the show.

"shinji, crank that Soulja boy"

@rokiirokiiroll 2 years ago (edited)

another thing to add to asuka is that asukas mom hung her self and “asuka” in a double suicide but just hung the doll because she thought it was her

Eva's theme is universal: loneliness, depression, self and awareness. It is also a lesson we can take away to be a better person once we are aware if we are struggling with these issues.
