Man to whoever voiced the Disfigured Firefighter did a great job capturing a hoarse voice and the coughing

The adorable Cat you get from the Cat Lady is a true homie as you feed the kitty some cat food, Human guests won't die to a visitor for the night and you can pet it and pick it up too.

You are the first person I've seen to explain FEMA's Russian original organization and it all makes so much more sense now, thank you!

Mushroom man refers to Polish horror series Kraina Grzybów (Land of Mushrooms) which symbolize nuclear war and end of humanity

TBH the craziest, most unbelievable thing in this game is by far the insulation on this house, how is that heat not getting in and killing you during the day?

Brooo that PALE VISITOR's VA is FABULOUS, if hadn't told that u hired him i would have assumed it's official voice acting

I like how your Fiance is just Casually Portrayed as an Eldritch Horror

I think the mushroom ending is an analogy to an atomic bomb being dropped on the city, and it makes sense since the FEMA agent said that might happen. And because of the mushroom the protagonist ate, his perception of the world was altered; he imagined he was heading to the land of mushrooms when, in reality, he was fleeing the city... and for that same reason, he sees a mushroom instead of a bomb.

47:57 I always saw this ending as "The Nuke" ending. the giant mushroom is a mushroom cloud from a nuke launched by FEMA or the government. Maybe the things that you did was in fact hysterics from the nuke warnings, people will do anything to live one more day. And when the cloud does fall, what else is their to do but die and drink kombucha

I didn't know the devs were Russian. Tbh explains a lot of the style and some thematic aspects

“Funny how YOU feel nothing at all” that change in voice gave me goosebumps

Im not actually sure if the people in cashier girl's story are visitors, I believe it is implied heavily that they either drugged (or gave alcohol) to her roommate and then assaulted her
I think they were normal shitty humans and when she ran away she got caught in the sun, died, was buried to dispose of a corpse, and then reanimated
But thats entirely just a theory

What a time to make a video about the sun burning people with all these heatwaves going on irl😂

I think there’s another way to read the Visitor lore that makes a lot of the weird pieces fit together.

I agree with the Doctor that it probably isn’t a virus. My theory is that it’s fungal, and that humans can be infected and converted without realizing it.

There may even be a difference between "true" Visitors and converted humans. The Pale Man could be one of the originals from underground, which would explain why he looks so much less human and seems much more aware of what is happening.

Converted Visitors, though, may still genuinely think they are human during the day. They might keep their memories and personality, then have the Visitor side take over while they sleep. Some of the people you kill may not even be lying to you. They may die honestly believing they were human.

That would also make the Cashier Girl make a lot more sense, since she is a guaranteed Visitor but seems to genuinely remember being a normal person.

I also think the dream sequence is important here, especially with the "Walk A Mile in Their Shoes" achievement. It doesn’t prove this theory, but it seems pretty relevant if the protagonist can experience some kind of Visitor state while asleep.

The fungal part comes from the actual fungal growth being one of the Visitor signs, the mushroom ending, and possibly the warning about burning bodies. That last part is more speculative, but if the spores can survive heat, burning infected bodies could actually help spread them through the smoke.

So basically, I don’t think "it isn’t a virus" means "humans can’t turn into Visitors." My guess is that something from underground is spreading a fungal infection that can convert humans, and the converted humans may not even know what they have become.

Pale Visitor's voice actor absolutely KILLED it, amazing work

10:52 I don't like my chances of survival if I can't figure out not to wear a ribbed sweater when it's too hot to leave the house

The mushroom ending is refering to a nuke my guy, the symbolism is quite on the nose honestly

There are a lot of elements going on with No, Im Not a Human. Its fairly complex and it bounces between different layers of meaning.

It calls itself an anthology horror game because each time you play through it, whatever the events you encountered on that run was your story and the next time you play is basically the protagonist starting all over again. You maintain your own experiences and understanding of the game.

Because the story is fairly upfront 90-ish percent of the time people dont understand when it abstracts and becomes metaphorical, like the Mushroomland ending. That entire ending is a metaphor to a nuclear bombing to try to contain the events happening around this town.

Even with this there are still hints at the actual story going on that can only be discerned through interpretation and repeated playthroughs.

The Pale Visitor himself while being mostly literal is also symbolic of loneliness.

when the va does such a good job that you have nightmares
