There is zero chance that the sequels will have a glow-up like the prequels. That trilogy had a plan behind them even if you dislike the execution

This isn't gonna happen and it hasn't happened.  I walked out of the theater after episode 8 feeling a sad void.  I haven't even seen episode 9.  Its been like 10 years since episode 7 and there is still zero hype for anything star wars.  Disney simply mishandled everything.

On the contrary, more time passes, more the Sequels get more hate

Disney isn't capable of saving the franchise after totally destroying it, there's no going back!

I don’t think so. A ton of studies have been done on all this, including analyzing merch sales. The prequels got more popular as time went on. The sequels on the other hand are getting less popular. Either way, the two trilogies are hated for completely different reasons.

I think it is easier for people to overlook flawed movies (the prequels) that have a genuinely good storyline and worldbuilding, vs what feels like fan fiction that isnt canon, and written by 3 different people as they went along.
A show or videogame set during the clone wars or on Naboo or Coruscant is interesting. Something set during thr sequel era feels plain wrong because there shouldnt even be a First Order, nor Luke Skywalker missing, nor Han & Leia separated.

Somehow people still think there is hope for palpatine to somehow return.

And I am nature born Martian.

It’s going to be seen as a product of its time at best. This is just cope.

It is part of this saga, but we do not give it the rank of cannon

FYI I was a child when the Force Awakens came out and I still hate it to this day. so no children who grew up with the Sequels will not appreciate them the same way Prequel Fans did, because I'm one of them! Children have high standards too you know.

This is a bold video cotton, let’s see how it plays out for him!

These movies do not have consistent story. It seems like they were written by 3 kids. With different ideas. No coheion at all 😂😂😂.

They are simply bad movies. Not just for SW fans, but for the whole cinema industry. They will not get attention. It has been 11 years!!! No hype around them yet.

In 2009, episode 1 was already popular. The hate was partially gone. After 11 years, is 2015's TFA popular?!

Lmao

it may happen but then again, rogue one and andor and clone war (and bad batch plus more one or two) exists in same era stamp as a reminder it just needed competent writers and directors who had proper clear vision and goal of the story.

andor and rogue one had shown moral grey to dark sides of everyday man turning into rebel just to give their next of kin the freedom they were denied by authoritian government, thet show showed something new inside the star wars universe that is still consistant inside world with jedi's...

prequel trilogy and clone wars saga was actual princess and the knight with shakesperian tragedy hero going into dark path and political thriller of one one guy puppetireing all sides by using their own incompetence and flaws that they willingly ignore against them(aka the jedi's) and palp barely uses his power in physical and distructive way but enhances his already manipulative side by reading mind and force projecting nightmares,he uses his sith apprentices as much of a puppets as anyone else...every acts and every decisions he quietly manipulates to not establish sith rule over everything else but have everything for himself(vader is his top dog but mostly as a powerful asset) while everyone falls in his trap without understanding...prequel had deeper theme and story which was even better than original in a way but execution wasn't close enough to deliver that grand larger than life epic,OT was flash gordon type sci-fi adventure while prequel wanted to steer that more into dune and lord of The Silmarillion and lord of the rings type depth and george lucas kinda failed to fully potray that vision, his idea was good execution wasn't...on the other hand,I still don't know main motive of sequel legacy trilogy...it doesn't feel like it have any grand theme and it doesn't feel like it can become better with foreign language dub that we don't understand so we have to read subtitle...

Why do we have to wait for it though?

With the prequels, we had to wait for it because social media wasn't a thing in the early 2000s.

But social media has been a thing since BEFORE TFA so the sequel love we're hearing about RIGHT NOW is all there's ever going to be.

Only if something worse comes along.

If you seriously believe that, then I have a few square miles on the moon I can sell you at a bargain... ^^

It’s been 10 years since TFA the reputation of this movie and the Sequels  has worsened. The huge reason it even succeeded in the first place was because

It catered heavy to Gen X Nostalgia with the OT

It wasn’t made by George Lucas where his reputation was still negative

It was a new episode in the title and it was released 10 years after ROTS

Another difference between the Seuqles and Prequels is that the Prequels were made by the author who made the originals. Disney will ALWAYS have this security that it wasn’t made by George Lucas so they can easily write them off. It’s not helped by the fact that Lucas himself even criticized TFA for being a Retro movie. Mando and Grogu were also a cultural breakthrough, hell Disney launched that movie about them as a SAFE return to Star Wars and it flopped harder than Solo. Those kids that were supposed to be invested in the Sequels flocked to the MCU as their generational childhood. Just look at how much money Brand New Day made in comparison to Mando and Grogu. It’s a night and day difference. One thing I will agree is that Dtar Wars isn’t immune to criticism and Star Wars has worn out all of the audience good will and will never reach the cultural peak it once had.
