Do you think Berserk accurately captures the conflicts in a person's humanity?

Only berserk can convince me to watch a 2hrs long video essay about the metaphors and philosophy that miura didn't even put there consciously.

After almost four whole decades, we finally see the beginning of the end for Griffith.

One of the many aspects I like about Berserk is the theme of perseverance and the human will. Despite extreme, overwhelming trauma, characters like Guts and others still keep living and going. Life is hard. Especially for the characters in the Berserk universe. Things don't magically and miraculously get better. Later in the story, Guts doesn't get his body fully restored, and everything works out. It's not a Disney Pixar movie. Guts carries that insanely large and heavy sword, a physical burden, and then there is the greater mental burden that is his life.

When I was 17 reading Berserk for the first time it was weird that Guts has this JRPG like group with Casca, Isidro, Farnese, Serpico, and Schierke. I'm 28 now, and as an adult I love Guts' new group more than the Band of the Hawk. After the tragedy that happens to the Band of the Hawk, he finds another reason to live and people who care about him.
Despite how terrible life can be, there is a reason to live. Or some people choose to continue living just because they choose to.

It's like the Japanese pottery kintsugi. The broken pottery fixed with gold. That is what humanity is.

God. Berserk is such a masterpiece.

Struggle, endure, contend.

been hoping you would cover berserk since your monster video, such a legendary piece of media, everybody loves berserk. Personally I love your style of focusing on narrative and philosophy in these videos, feels like youre giving the respect the artform deserves.

Kentaro Miura was one of the greatest mangaka who ever lived. And one of the greatest writers to ever pick up a pen. Berserk's ongoing story may not have been the exact same since his passing, but to me, it is still him telling us that some stories truly do transcend lifetimes. And I still believe in it. It's still his story. It'll always be.
Five years and I still miss him.

THAT MAN IS WATCHING A SUMMARY VIDEO OF A SERIES THEY HAVE NOT ENGAGED IN!

What a video you never disappoint

A feature length video AND its on BERSERK? Thank you sensei you are genuinely a gentleman and a scholar.

This is some of the highest quality content I've ever seen on the platform. Well done

This analysis is addicting - every word has deliberate intention. You can tell this was crafted.

if you're wondering were the story is right now, without spoilers...
uuuhh...
guts took a nap and it shows

Great video Sock. Glad you actually covered the entirety of Berserk instead of just the Golden Age arc

brother, you have done miura’s works true justice — this is the standard for analysis for what he dedicated his life to.

thank you

I fully agree with almost everything, except for the statement at the end. Miura and mori are described as having “one mind” their thoughts, ideas, ideals and everything for their mangas was shared and passed through eachother, mori is the only one that knows the ending of berserk and exactly how it’s suppose to end, they are imo like geto and gojo, a relationship that cannot be put in a category, I mean there are still people debating when mori started drawing the chapters and they only have a real time frame unfortunately due to miura’s hospitalization iirc.

Thank you sir, I have consumed all the berserk content out there afaik.... But this video helped me understand Griffith more than anything else. Awesome stuff. Great job.

I initially saw this video as 14:35:10 and thought that seems a little condensed but ok, lets roll

1:37:07 "...so Rickert pulled out an M72 LAW..."
