From stunning competition quilt galleries and breathtaking textile art to browsing all the incredible fabric stalls and independent shops, we had the absolute best time soaking in all the creative inspiration (and naturally, doing plenty of fabric squishing along the way! 🙈).

I’m also sharing a look at some gorgeous ideas for handmade bags I’m planning to design and am thinking to sell... I would love your thoughts and creative input on styles, shapes, and prints you’d love to see.

Hi Sarah, loved seeing the quilt show from a different angle, it's my normal angle, lol.

My mum was a machinist and when we were little (before starting school) she used to do home working, one of my earliest memories is her sewing furry bonnets, they were big fluffy things that had faux leather ties with matching fur pompoms on the end to tie them. They would deliver big boxes to our house and she had her sewing machine in the corner of the living room, she would sit for hours sewing them and when my dad got home, he would help her turn them all right side out. She loved her machine and when me and my sister were pregnant, she made us some maternity dresses, I carried both my kids through heatwaves and she used light cotton to make me some pinafore type dresses, they were so comfortable. I still have her machine, it folds away into it's own table, but if memory serves me right, it wasn't working properly and she couldn't find anywhere to get if fixed. One day soon, I will set it up and try it out, I want to make memorial teddies for my kids from some of my mum and dad's clothes, it would be nice to be able to use her machine for it, if not, I will just use my little dinky portable thing, lol.

It was so nice to see you out and about again, I keep saying I'm going to invest in an airhorn and when the ignoramuses get in the way of the wheelchair, I will scare the crap out of them :person-blue-wheelchair-race:📯📯 Taking that first step of using a wheelchair or scooter is hard, I crippled myself for probably the best part of a year before finally giving in, but life gets so much easier when you bute the bullet, it's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about and it's not giving up your independence, it's taking it back!! :face-red-heart-shape: Really looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations xx

Fantastic video❤. I’ve also come across from Amora’s channel. Would be great to see a video tutorial on your bags, they’re gorgeous. You could also do one where you teach Amora to sew, that would be fun.

Hey Sarah not gonna lie I’m on amoras vibe I’m a crocheter I do have a sewing machine and I would love to learn how to use it so I can make bags like yours love the Toy Story bag you made so much I would use that everyday keep making the videos love them

You two are hilarious! You both say pretty the exact same way. I am a quilter, as well as a crocheter and I do lots of different fiber arts. Here in the states we don't have as many fiber festivals for cotton as we do for yarn, but we have things called shop hops. We don't have as many fiber festivals for yarn here either! I think we have a couple of big ones on each side of the country. Regional areas get together and many of the quilt stores join in as part of a shop hop and they usually have a theme. You can travel around to all the different stores and get stamps in a book and then they have drawings and different things like that. It's really neat to see how each one of the quilt stores actually takes on the personality of the owner. Check out your local area and see if they have something called a shop hop going on.

I have thoroughly enjoyed both of the videos you have made. You both remind me of my sister and me. We are both in electric wheelchairs and I totally get where you're coming from about how people will totally ignore that you are there. My sister just keeps going. When people remark, usually with some derogatory comment, she smiles sweetly and explains that a wheelchair doesn't quite stop when you walk in front of it. Any way. I have taken a liking to you and I have now subscribed to both of you. Best wishes.
