So glad the video has provoked dIscussion. I have some sympathy for the American Communists of the 1930s when the USSR alone looked like it might stand against Nazism. Stalin's crime were less known then but after the Non-Aggression Pact and esp. after Khrushchev's speech at the Party Congress was leaked detailing Stalin's crimes I don't know how they could still have supported the USSR and taken money and directives from the USSR.

I liked how Biberman got the "committee" chairman all upset. I think I'd be like "I'm not telling you if I am or ever have been. The beauty of this nation's Constitution is allowing for freedom of politics, among other freedoms."

The communists were out in front against fascism according to writer Paul Bernstein - until Stalin signed his little friendship agreement with Adolph. Then suddenly they were bosom pals. Poland, I think, was the first country to enjoy the two's practically simultaneous visitation. And, we're not even five minutes into the program.
