This was so heartbreaking. He was not a bad actor. Just a guy with low self esteem who thought that being a go between would get him friends.

I like these old Mysteries and Scandals.  Reminds of the old days when E! was about entertainment and not reality tv.

The Kennedy family did not deserve the respect given to them. The one rat pack member that refused to be sucked in by them was Dean Martin he refused to have anything to do with them when they did not allow Sammy in the white house.Dean also stood behind Marilyn when she was fired by the studio for singing at Kennedy s birthday. He refused to have any other star replace her in the film she was doing with him.R.I.P Dean.

Another underrated actor not given his due.

Peter was truly a gentleman. He understood friendship. He was a friend.
What he didn't understand was that friendship & being a gentleman
is never part of vanity, greed & power.

I just think that Frank never did like Peter and just used him for what he could do for him.

Damn, he couldn't catch a break! So sad! RIP Peter Lawford!

I don't think Sinatra ever really stopped resenting Peter for dating his ex wife Ava Gardner.  He invited Peter into his inner circle because he wanted to get close to Kennedy and he thought Lawford could facilitate what he wanted from the President.  When he saw Peter did not have that kind of influence with Kennedy, he had no more use for him and tossed him, literally, like he was trash.  Sinatra was a great entertainer, but a bastard.

I hope he is resting in peace.  How sad to go through life unloved, unwanted and used.  God bless him

Met Mr. Lawford briefly in 1968.  Was way to young to make much conversation or say anything worthwhile.  Wish I'd been older and known more about him.  Seems he was a very decent guy mixed up with fleas.  Still have his autograph after all these years.

I think that Peter was told that if he revealed anything he would have ended up like Marilyn. If Marilyn or Peter had talked the Kennedy legacy would have ended up much much different. Thank you so much for posting this part of history.

I love Peter Lawford. He was so handsome and that voice of his could melt butter. He was an underrated actor too...

How sad for him.  The last time I saw him he was on tv and he was almost in tears he said, I know this vodka is killing me but I cannot stop.

This documentary seems to ignore the fact that Peter Lawford had free will.  The theme that everybody used him, abused him, or abandoned him..... is tiring, it's as if he contributed nothing to his own life choices and to his own eventual downfall.  He was a big boy, he made choices and he chose what company to keep.  He was a two-bit actor who piggy-backed on other people's fame and that was his own free choice.  Stop making excuses for him.

Peter Lawford was an underrated actor.

What an absolutely heartbreaking story ... he never got a break.  Love all these people who for this docudrama say they loved him and what a great guy he was, but not ONE of them pitched in to at least see to it that he was buried with respect and dignity.  He deserved that much.

All too often, this is the story of celebrity. It's often better to just float in obscurity.

Thank you for posting this series. Watche it all the time.(When E! was much better.)

He was even sabotaged by his own mother that’s tough I pray somehow after all the pain he finally found the peace deserved

I like how the guy at the end says "Peter, I love you".
