Amazing amazing documentary. I first saw Bob Hope's shows on TV when I immigrated to America in the mid 70's. This program filled so many gaps in my knowledge of Hope. To me, he was a slice of America to taste and enjoy.

I’m old enough to remember him. He had a lot of TV specials in the 1960s and maybe 70s. Saw his movies too but they must have been older. Always came out with that song. Thanks for the Memories.

Bob Hope’s real genius may have been platform migration before anyone called it that. Vaudeville, radio, film and television all demanded different timing, yet he kept the same core skill: reading an audience in real time. I cover overlooked history on my own channel, and careers like this fascinate me because the technology keeps changing while the human mechanism barely does. Hope didn’t just survive eight decades of media. He repeatedly learned how to become native to the next one.

I loved Bob's movies, especially the Road pictures. My parent's watched all of his TV specials, but I loved him more when I came across some of his old radio shows.

When I first heard that he and Bing were big-time philanderors I was disappointed. For me It took a bit of shine off both of them. It is only after many decades of being an adult myself that I've come to believe that monogamy is not the natural condition of mankind. Marriage however, is a necessary part of the structure and functioning of a healthy community. Men and women need that legal foundation in order to protect their financial and social standing, and especially to protect their offspring so that they become a functional new generation of community that serves the whole over the individual. I wonder if Bob thought that deeply, but when all is said and done he and his wife kept their sides of their 'agreement '.

It's not often you see Woody Allen in something.

Bob Hope (who was friends with Spiro Agnew) when asked about Agnew's tax evasion crimes responded with well I was hoping he would get out off from that.

A selfless person for sure with decades of serving America but a champion of ethics not so much.

It is strange Billy Crystal is narrating.  I would think he would narrate a baseball doc and someone from the Midwest with Bob Hope's attitude would be reading his voice.  They are very different american voices.

How many Little Hopes I wonder 🤔🧐😉

He also get paid for it. Unlike E 3??

😂
