i'm not ready for this show to end, junior 😭😭

I think the ring is dead and John is still manifesting the halogram

Hey, yo... Just wanted to say I appreciate you paying enough attention to this show that you recognized that those portable holes were used in the scene with the guardians interview of John before they were used in that slaughterhouse.... Like two or three different show reaction channels I watch have called those portable holes manhunter tech and only brought up the slaughterhouse scene... Like it's amazingly cringe how many harsh, accosting comments I've been forced to leave on such channels about that.

They should all be ashamed of themselves making me have to treat them like that.

So anyhoo..... Good job, champ. 👍

I've been on a high because I got to hear a lesser known Queen song being used in such a big way.  And Father to Son is a perfect song to use, the lyrics feel very applicable to the Jordan Boys' curse.  The song is about a father wanting to impart wisdom to his son on how to live, but the son never really listens or understands, but the world goes on.  Everything the father does is for his son, and eventually a letter is written around the time of his death warning him of what's to come, and again, none of it makes sense, but it will eventually, and the world goes on.  When the son is about to die, he'll finally understands, rewrites the same words, and they will be passed on to his son, and it's a cycle that just keeps going.  It's the best needledrop of the DCU because it's not just a Queen song, it's so relevant to the themes of the story that it was used at the beginning of the episode, and in the credits.

It'll be very interesting if Hal turns out not to be dead after John does all this bonding with the Halogram

Whenever you notice something like that... a wizard did it.

4:24 a couple people have pointed this out, but i think there might be a double meaning going on here! obviously, young hal's death grip on the ball parallels his grip on the ring, but the way martin says "you can't hold onto it forever [...] because it's exhausting" could also be him talking about his own life and his feelings of depression that he's coping with, and the fact that he feels he's holding those feelings alone. so when he encourages hal to throw away the ball, it may also be speaking to martin's feelings on his own life. i think the reason we see young hal come back for the ball at the end of the episode, after the halogram has put forward the theory that he shot himself in the present day, is to tell us that no, hal didn't do that, because hal is still holding onto that ball, he refuses to give up for better or for worse, so just like he hung onto the ring, he would also hang on to his feelings and his life. my theory is that this is the foreshadowing for hal to be alive next episode

Thanks for addressing Hal’s age, definitely makes more sense. 💡

Thanks for the breakdown A bit of everything! 👍

In actual fairness the actions of Hal and John didn't result in Maggie's parents getting killed at all, it was entirely on the Manhunter and Hal was protecting people and even redirected the kamikaze aliens to the Manhunter's ranch away from the townspeople.

This episode was really good, I really love that now John is able to more positive relationship with Hal even though it's not with the Hal he knew and man I feel so bad for Hal's family sucks that they felt like people would be better off without them and John mother couldn't have been more wrong about him. Really curious on how this mystery is going to end next week I'm so excited to see how it ends also really curious how how Sinetrio is going to tie into all this and if the Yellow Lantern Corp is going to be teased.

I hope the next season stars a different set of lanterns in true, True Detective fashion

They should have made Hal and John animated space detectives series

I don’t have all the words for it but it’s clear the show is speaking volumes about discipline, devotion and love through the lens of Stockholm syndrome, where we see Rushville completely absolve Zoe of responsibility despite her literally nuking the town and John’s devotion to Hal in spite of their differences, John and his family, Hal to Sinestro, so on and so forth. Everyone’s serving someone they don’t necessarily want to or care to but out of duty and respect.

I agree, excellent episode, def top 3 of this series. In regards to the age inconsistency, I think this could be easily retconned (in or out of universe) by saying there was a typo in the news lady's script and her and/or the news staff didn't catch it before the special aired.

I certainly did not expect that Hal's dad unalived himself. And I do find it a little odd that both John and Halogram are assuming Hal did the same. I also found it interesting that the Halogram could manifest himself as he wanted for the most part. I loved them bringing things back around to Antaan but I'm curious why Sinestro was there and why he hadn't gone insane the way John was starting to. Still a shame there was no mention of Carol or that we'll ever get Hal/Carol things.

The mogo trick to shut Hal up about what's happening to help be willing to say "open" to his vault was stunningly great

Can’t wait for the season finale

The thing with the waitress could see that John won't care how the little town thinks. He is his own. Its why his flight will be in the last hour before the game and saving them as Noah does kill them like Zoe who all is puppeting them
