In the comics, there is a guardian named Lianna. She was born when Kyle Rayner relit the battery on Oa. She was tall. Though she didn't look much like the Guardians. Perhaps they decided to blend the 2. (Shes also a villain)

The black smoke disabling the Lantern Ring reminds me of Black Hand too.

I do feel the whole “say the oath and you become a green lantern” isn’t really meaning anyone can say the oath and become a green lantern, but either the guardians telling John that that’s what he needs to do for the transfership of being the green lantern of the sector to happen, or more of a “ceremonial” thing, like once you’re chosen by the rings or the guardians, you say the oath with the ring on and you are now officially the green lantern.

Its really cool we already got the reveal. It means that there is a lot more to the Story! 🙏🏽💯💯

I thought that Hal was going to save the cow for a second lol which was funny to me when it still got lazered

"He then hangs up on his mom -- which is just crazy" 😂

"No Granny shall Escape my Sight, this is my power. Cougar Light!" 😂

You gave me SO much to consider, I am gonna have to watch this again before the next episode! 💯

oh my godddd, this show is amazing so far, and the trailer for episode 5 looks insane.

14:52 I think macon is talking about selling cattle but could easily also be code for selling alien tech

9:00 my theory rn is that she is a manhunter and jon was raised by them to take over as the green lantern from hal so they can have soemone in charge of earth who will be kinder to them and they think jon is that person

As someone who wasn’t a big fan of some of the trailers before, I’m glad to say that I’m really enjoying this show, hopefully it keeps up its quality by the end

To be fair, Hal does admit that visiting sinestro did violate his oath "in a way". He says it immediately after admonishing John for believing every word the guardians say.

18:46 Zoe, the man Hunter recognizes the trace within John Stewart. She was created to be a killing machine only to accept orders and never question them. The same thing has happened to him. Maybe she knows more about him than we realize and that the show has lead on for us to believe. Whether she knows everything or she knows a bit she can sense that she and Jon have been read and or created for one specific function. She’s turning against her function and she’s watching John turn against his. It is the in a core trait of a person that connects to the other person who consent not to something similar but something identical.

Zoe has known about a game plan since episode one, there’s definitely manipulation on her part against John that much is clear but the part that everyone else seems to keep on missing is this she has genuine attraction toward him because she understands his tragic backstory. She also understands because John’s personality is the way it is he doesn’t let anybody in. He doesn’t let anybody get close to him. Jon being somewhat of a recluse when it comes to normal every day life. Would never allow a girl he may be fond enough to get close to him. Especially not a normal earthling girl.

The reason why they are attracted to each other is because John is not normal. The man Hunter is not normal. They have similar psychological traits that connect to the core of who they are fundamentally. This creates a bond of attraction we’re not opposites attract, the same driving force in him is the same driving force in her.

So attraction toward her is because like how, he is lonely there is nobody for him and he doesn’t try to connect with anyone who is technically normal because he knows he so far removed from normal till it’s not funny. He’s the strong silent personality type so he would only be a good fit for someone who can handle the weight of certain things that he’s going through in his life that’s not something you’re typical average earthling girl would be able to handle.

So because of his loneliness and his alienation from friends and family members, therefore he has no friends and his family life. Is you all know how it went down. So he feels lonely most of the time buddy bottles it up because he’s all about the mission he’s all about the job. He’s all about the directive the order finishing it to the end. But under the two legit training of his mentor How, he’s learning not to just accept everything for what it is he’s learning to not always accept every choice that was put before him and for him not to just follow through.

Furthermore, Jon being lonely, the same as hell, Jon said the opportunity of a kindred soul he senses and has a deep connection with instantly. Loneliness can drive you to make a decision that is beneficial or non-beneficial. He still is human still has the desire to want to want to need and to be needed. Creature comforts there are parallels between Zoe and John Stewart.

8:38 The numbers ("two-eight-one-four") are actually pronounced individually when saying the name of the sector. It's similar to how the Marvel Universe is called Earth-616.

Back to the present and accomplishing the 2016 story section made this show always give on more action with it's true detective spirit.

18:14 if we do not get confirmation to see who John is talking to on the other end of that phone. That is not his mom nor his dad. Those are not his parents. That is the entity masquerading as a guardian seeking to manipulate him further.

Think about it remember when the entity masquerading as a female guardian, was specifically pulling the strings to get an emotional response out of John in order to use this against John and Hall later on making sure how hurt the entire conversation to further drive away between them. Her goal is that John will get into a conversation with Hall and ends up killing him in the process. That’s Plan B plan a is simply having Jon take ownership of the Green Lantern ring that belongs to how. This is this doing everything in its power to speed the process up before Hall gets closer to the secret mystery.

If we don’t see who’s on the other end of the phone, you cannot confirm that that is the actual person talking. It’s highly possible and probable that Zoe is the man Hunter, but she’s not the villain she’s been made out to be based on stories having to do with her and or her kind. She has a different breed. Maybe she was evil at one point in time, but she is clearly not now.

Furthermore, we don’t know if there is more than one man Hunter. That is also a possibility. Due to this it’s quite possible that the entity masquerading as a guardian is a more powerful man Hunter.

Also, the show is called lanterns. Meaning more than one color spectrum could show up.

8:21 I think John is on the "whitelist" for Hal's ring since he's a trainee, so maybe if anyone with trainee permission says the oath, they become its new owner. Or maybe it's a special rule the Guardians installed just for this occassion because they want to push John into rebelling against Hal in favor of them.

That will Macon scene was really weird 😂 like I like to think I’m media literate and I’m not fully certain what the point of it was tbh

The actor for William Macon posted a picture of himself on his instagram in black in white of him wearing a mask but it didn’t show his whole head. Maybe he is the black hand? Makes sense with the tools, and the obsession with the rings power. I also believe he was a person of wealth in the silver age but I could be mistaken.
