You are my favorite reactor.

"I just need a little bit of Ren today... this is a shorter one..."

Ohhhh boy...

Hello Kind Sir.  I hope you are ok. You seem a bit in thought. Thank you for reacting to this, and I wish you nothing but love. You take on so much from others,  Please remember to let that pain and anguish flow through you and not become part of you.  You are a healer, but you are also a human.  Much love to you. ❤❤❤

The initial scene he sets, on the kitchen floor, is straight out of his life.  It was the day his mind broke & he fell into stress-induced psychosis.  It makes me cry every time.

Thank you for this reaction. I am atheist but always feel you have peace and wisdom in your words.

Ah, Rev.  Just hearing your voice can break one of my anxiety attacks, and hearing your thoughts brings my blood pressure down.  Thanks for sharing with us, and, as always, much love from Canada :D

Ren is truly a "gift to humanity".

Ren lives with chronic pain to this day... buzzing in the soles of his feet, leg muscles constantly twitching, vision issues, gut issues, etc. But nothing like he was experiencing when he composed this song. He has said that if you want to have an inkling of what he was experiencing back then, you should stay awake for three days in a row while eating the foods that make you feel ill, then at the end of those three days, try to lift weights or run a mile.

Please give your kind and sensitive soul a break and listen to the lighter side of Ren... Power, Back on 74, Ready for You. Or anything by his band The Big Push (especially anything from their busking session where Ren is wearing red suspenders.)

Thank you for doing this one. I have been waiting. I've been watching your reactions since your first Ren. Fun story, Seven Sins is the song that got me hooked on our Boi. My husband knows I don't usually like new, live, or indie music. I grew up as a drummer's child, I really thought I had heard it all. But when he heard "Have you ever felt PAIN", my sweet hubz KNEW it was time to introduce me to Ren. I've had chronic pain since I was teen, and I've studied many different religions, I was raised Gnostic. This song felt like it was written for me. Almost three years ago, now, and I can't be more grateful to have his music and this glorious group of humans to keep me company.

What a thoughtful reaction.   Much love and peace to you

I was in England this last week and was obsessed that I was there and couldn't go to Boomtown where Ren performed in a venue that holds 30,000+ people. But I watched videos as they came out, it was wonderful. And he was sooooo happy, heartwarming to see him responding to his fans, and all of them singing Chalk Outlines. And he had just come from another huge concert at Boardmasters. So.... he's doing well enough to perform at least a few gigs... and he looks terrific. Let's hope it continues.

Thank you for your thoughtful and beautiful comments.

Ren will be forever known as a philosopher and musical genius Xx

This is a rough one. I'm glad you got through this, and I think your thoughts about ethics & moralities being a privilege were really spot on.

You aren't who most people who know me would think i follow  but i really appreciate your thoughts on life. You always are very thoughtful with what you say and you have a good hart❤.

I love the way the first verse is written/sung. Ren has been through so much compared to most but the way he delivers the first verse is in a way that allows people to review their own sufferings without comparing who is worse. He opens doors for discussion and therapy without ever creating judgement or comparison

Ren's lyme disease and the treatments he underwent before they even knew what it was... it is unlikely that he will ever be "fine" unless science comes up with one heck of a break through.  He is doing much better though thanks to better treatments and the massive amount of pills he takes on a daily basis.  He's still allergic to most foods, suffers from auto-immune disorder, ptsd, brain damage etc etc but he managed to get out and do a small tour with The Big Push in the UK this year and he's done 2 festival shows solo already with his final coming up here soon.  He's actually opening for 21 Pilots which is just massive for him.  He just released a new album with Chris Webby and JP who are both from the U.S. collectively they go by Inpatient and the album is Asylum (which is where Caskets is from).  We are also anxiously awaiting The Big Push to drop a new album and Ren himself will also be releasing Slaughterhouse (solo album) both are due out "soon".  So he's doing well but we need a medical miracle for him to ever be cured.  You should check out the title track Asylum from Inpatient's album, I think you will like it.

This one is short....but it never feels short because of the intensity of the thoughts he shares with us...... He coherently expresses more in 4 mins than most people manage in years. ❤ We can see how deeply you feel when listening.......I hope you are ok and don't move on feeling upset or burdened. Ren is ok, he knows who he is, where he is and what matters ❤ I wish more people had the same awareness. Thanks for this one but please don't let us burden you with heavy Ren tracks just because of your beliefs..... There are songs, especially with The Big Push that are just joy.....we all deserve some joy x

I’ve just been lucky enough to see Ren include this in his set when playing a big UK festival - one of the three he is doing this year. He was spectacular. Sending you love and strength. Xx

I highly recommend REN’s 8 Chapters of his challenging journey, and potentially speak hope to those whom who can resonate with his challenges and suffering. 🙏🏻

I feel a deep connection to Ren because we have endured the invisible disease and all the mental pain that comes with the, “You look fine to me.” But they don’t see me when I have a bout of trigeminal neuralgia which is called the suicide disease because it is the most pain a human can experience.
I see and experience the world differently. I also act differently, especially on drugs as Ren has experienced, so instead of an invisible illness you are marked as crazy.  Buddhism taught me that the antidote to my negative feelings was to create positive feelings in someone else. Ren gives you the pain and the antidote. He’s survived and lives to tell us we can survive the dark because the pendulum will swing back towards the light. I’ve learned to remember that when the pain hits, it will go away and because of that I’ve learned to lean into the pain, to learn from it and that when it goes away to lean into that. And to always try to spread loving kindness as an antidote for what ails you. ❤
