I'm a total Green Lantern casual and I love this show ngl

Its funny how since Lanterns came out all of a sudden everyone is a green Lantern fan

That interrogation scene was so goddamn cinema.

It’s such a shame that Kyle Chandler hasn’t been playing Hal Jordan for the last 3 decades!

The only people that want this show to fail is synderbots

has it been, dare i say.. good optics?

Satan's strongest soldiers made me LOL. Also, I think you misread the oath scene. Hal doesn't despise the oath, he doesn't like that dude mocking it. Hal doesn't trust the Guardians and hates the uniform and so on, but he still cares about the job. The oath is sacred to him. Listen to how he recites in Ep. 2. Like a kid saying his prayers before a meal and trying to hide the fact that it means something to him because that goes against his aloof, doesn't-care-about-anything vibe.

6:15 Interesting because I got the opposite reading. Hal is extremely jaded toward the Guardians and doesn't want to wear the suit as much anymore, but he still can't stand to see someone denigrate the oath he's had to repeat almost every day for the past 30 years. There's something about the ring and Corps that Hal still holds very closely, he won't show it, but he still holds his title in high regard. It's really one of the few times this version of Hal is genuinely shaken by someone else's words and angry.

Green Lantern the Animated Series was also pretty great but ended up only lasting a season as a casualty of the 2011 Green Lantern movie.

Kyle Chandler is to Hal Jordon what Charlie Cox is to Daredevil.

Tom King locked in for once in his career

2:35 I think they wanted Josh Brolin mostly because one of the inspiration of the series, above True Detective, was No Country For Old Men.
In fact,in the series there are other actors of the movie have important role in the series,Kelly Macdonald that played the girlfriend of Josh Brolin character, and Garret Dillahunt that was the vice-sherrif and here is William Macon.

Sincerly,I would have enjoy it,Josh Brolin can play the goofball and maverick pretty well,See "Ihnerit Vice" and his remake of "brothers" with Peter dinklage

I think, Aaron Pierre or not,he would have done a great work.

But Kyle Chandler work in the series is unmatched and embodies the character perfectly.

I still hope he can show up in the future, maybe for Kilowog

I think the way to win with Batman would be to start it as a series to develop the characters first before doing a movie.

i feel like we’ve all kind of skipped over the fact Hal kind of murdered John by crashing that car in Rushville. Zoe watched him burn, sure, but Hal crashed that car and John was trapped until sunrise. If not for that Alien regen tech, John wouldn’t be walking around.

6:58 I think Hal really does like John. After his whole speech about John only getting the ring over his dead body he says he's looking forward to training him. I don't think that was sarcasm as when Hal shows up the song blaring on his radio is "Boogie Shoes" (look up the song meaning) and in James Gunn's DCU and all the projects he's involved in music is more than just set wallpaper it helps tell a bigger better story. Using that same train of thought look up what the song "Build Me Up Buttercup" means and then you'll get the real reason Hal picked Kerry's nickname in episode 6.

2:03 Ryan Reynolds doing that for 15 years just to ask for a cameo when lanterns blew up really shows how badly he wants the spotlight

Ya’ll forgetting, Aaron Pierre did his thing too. The writing for John Stewart is one of the best comic book to screen adaptation in long while and he really brought the character to life.

The magic of this show to me was just how grounded it feels, especially for a show intending to introduce a galactic space cop, and his trainee. It's so creative and I love that they've focused more on the men behind the ring.

I went from "where's the Green" at the first trailer to reading Green Lantern comics in between new episode releases cuz I am absolutely hooked on the green lantern mythos rn. This might genuinely be the greatest character revival of all time in my opinion.

3:26 it’s also critical to remember that after the events of his daughter’s death and the eventual release of the Snyder Cut, Snyder basically and justifiably vanished from the internet. He is terminally offline and there’s a very likely not aware his continued cult of defenders even fucking exists
