English as its own language is pretty young.  It has adapted over the centuries, mixing in Roman Latin, Germanic, Norman French and Viking Scandinavian.  Welsh, while also incorporating aspects of Latin and later English, is much, much older.  The Welsh are descended from the Britons who inhabited the islands long before the Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Normans arrived.

We are very proud of our flag.
We are very proud to be Welsh.
A small country but full of outstanding beauty.
Mountains, coastlines, castles,  waterfalls, woodlands, great people, blue seas, even famous filming locations, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Freshwater West), The Dark Knight Rises (Henrhyd Falls), King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (Snowdonia/Eryri), Robin Hood (Freshwater West), and the 1980s fantasy classic Willow (Pendine Sands and Snowdon)
We have it all!

hi from Wales,,,welsh is by far the oldest language,,and the thing we have more of per mile,,,,castles

At last you found Wales, my homeland.  Wales is where God comes to for his vacation

Yep, it's Castles..everywhere.

A fun bonus fact about wales and Britain in general is almost the entire island of mainland Britain used to be wales before all the invasions

Hi from South Wales, Welsh language is older then the English Language.

so many sheep in wales ,one of the supermarkets in our town of Merthyr Tydfil had to put a cattle grid in front of their doors because the sheep would walk in through the automatic doors.

His pronunciations are excellent. What also pleased us was that he used the Welsh names rather than the better-known English names. For example "Yr Wyddfa" is Mount Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. "Eryri" is Snowdonia - the mountain range that contains Snowdon. I see them every day from my house on a hill at one of the furthest points near the west coast of Anglesey. Actually went to Portmeirion for the first time at the weekend. It became famous as the setting for a 60s TV show called The Prisoner.

Actually 20mph is fine. If you have a car with adaptive cruise control just turn it on and chill.

Only 37% of all roads in Wales, have 20mph speed limits. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

As a Welshman, I agree with this message. :)

Hi from South Wales!
My DNA test revealed I have a high percentage of Neanderthal DNA, 84th percentile, more Neanderthal DNA than 84% of the world population.
Gold mines in Wales produce a very rare Welsh Gold, or Rose Gold, it is a different colour to normal gold as it contains a small amount of copper.

The Welsh language is one of the oldest in Europe, English language is quite modern compared to Welsh.
True about sheep it is 3 to 1 there is about 9 to 10 million sheep to 3.15 million people.
Castles is the one thing we have more of per square mile.
Yes built up areas are now have a speed limit of 20 mph, but where I live in the County of Wrexham 53 road have reverted back to 30 mph, these will be the busier through routes in built up areas on A and B roads.
Cymru am Byth, diolch yn fawr.

The answers are Welsh is the older language and it has more castles per square mile than anywhere...

As a Welshman, who is fluent in Welsh as well as Old Welsh, which took me over two and a half years to learn because it is more complex than modern Welsh and there are fewer than a few dozen people in the world who can speak Old Welsh.

This is why when an American says that American English is the oldest language in the world, I always shut them down by telling them that actually, Welsh is one of the oldest living spoken languages in Europe and in the United Kingdom, which can be traced back to Bronze Age Britain.

I live in caerphilly and can see the castle from my bedroom window

The answer to that last question is castles. Wales has more than 600 castles, giving it the highest concentration of castles per square mile than any other country in the world.

It is also not called Wales, it is Cymru, in its own tongue

Erm, Ogwen lake, lake Idwal etc... definitely naturally formed too!!!
Half of my family are from Anglesey and the other half are from Bethesda. Penrhyn quarry is still going strong and the two lakes I mentioned are just down the road. Cwm Idwal is my favourite place in the world 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
