get unhealthy by eating sh*t --> go bankrupt on healthcare --> die ....this is how you become the product, top capitalism 😂

An American woman who thought she was gluten-intolerant realized, after spending a year in Spain, that she wasn't; the difference lies in the chemical treatment of flour in the U.S., which is banned in Europe.
Best regards from France.

Funny thing : "GRAS" (Generally Recognized As Safe) in french is actually a common word that translates into english as "FAT" !

This is also why a lot of American foods are NOT sold in Canada.

It is even worse. Natural products are not safe in the U.S. either. For example, the insecticide Exirel has a 21-day safety interval in Europe. In the U.S., it is 3 days.

The principle in the food industry in America is basically that everything is allowed until it has been proven to be unhealthy or dangerous to human beings while in Europe, the producers of food have to prove that their products are safe for human consumption before they are even allowed to release the products to the consumers.

Most of the chemicals aren't banned in Europe. They are restricted, all this means is that they have to put on a warning label like he shows at 5:11 with the mac & cheese. Yellow 5 is known as E102 and Yellow 6 E110 over here. Companies self regulate their use here, for the chemicals they have to put warnings on they simply change the ingredients just to not put the warning on. That's it, they aren't banned, we can import the US versions if we really want. But companies feel the warning might harm sales so they simply use better options.

BVO is flat out banned, you can't even import foods that contain it.

You also have to bare in mind with Europe - Particularly the EU and UK - is that we are more focused on keeping our citizens healthy, so even though we have universal health care people don't need to use it. Sure it's great when we do need it, but preventative measures that keep us healthier is always the best option.

In Europe, when it comes to food, the health of citizens is more important than corporate profits. In the US, only corporate profits matter; the health of citizens is of little concern.

Most European countries have laws saying that warning labels have to be put on the package in order for them to be allowed to be sold

About warning labels, yes we put them on the box. A few months ago we started seeing a new warning label, for simple things like high fat, high sodium etc. And the government made sure to make the label really ugly so we can’t miss it.

As an experiment: if you don’t already know it, familiarise yourself with the tune of “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate. Then, instead of “I believe in miracles/ Where you from, you sexy thing?” try singing “Azodicarbonamide/ Yoga mats inside your bread” and see what comes to mind the next time someone mentions an American white sliced loaf…

My theory is don’t eat anything in a cardboard box in the centre of the supermarket.

French Fries in Europe usually have 3 ingredients, while USA have 14...
Also. Mc Donald's in Europe have higher quality food than in USA.

That "product" tastes pretty decent over here, but it's mostly made from domestic ingredients.

This is the real reason American companies can't sell their products in the rest of the world. The rest of the world realises that poisoning their citizens will lead to higher healthcare costs so companies are required to prove their products are safe to consume before they can be sold. In the US unhealthy products lead to health issues which then feeds the for profit healthcare industry.

"the free market will naturally reach an equilibrium"

An American woman in the UK was complaining that bread bought from a Bakers in the UK, went stsle after a few days. She was saying thatbread in the US stayed "fresh" for 3 to 4 weeks. Of course bread in the UK is just flour, a little salt etc and yeast, whereas one of the preservatives in US bread is the same as from those old fashioned polystyrene ceiling tiles.

When Americans who struggle with certain foods in the USA travel to Canada or Europe, they often experience a physical process where they can suddenly eat and enjoy Canadian versions of those same foods without the typical digestive discomfort, bloating, or inflammatory symptoms.
It is chiefly driven by stricter federal food safety laws, fewer highly processed additives, and different agricultural rules enforced by the Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Easy to answer, full of chemicals, only disgusting, all about Money, greetings from germany

The part about how flavor companies (like Givaudan and IFF) design "natural flavors" to hit the exact bliss point without triggering satiety signals is fascinating and alarming. It explains why ultra-processed foods make up nearly 60% of average diets. Great reaction!
