"Most people will see YOU crying and it will trigger their empathy" That's why crocodile tears are such an effective and common manipulation tool. Stay safe y'all.

Unicorn Academy is small in the books. Not as small as the Sapphires in the show, but there are about twelve students in each year.

Man… these Sofia’s and their necklaces 😂

(7:23) For those curious, TL;DR: The "Black character with lightning powers" trope exists because Black Lightning was an incredibly popular character during the time of his creation. DC wanted to make a cartoon featuring Black Lightning (or BL as I like to call him) but unfortunately DC came down with a bad case of "we don't wanna pay the creator"-itis, so they created their own legally distinguishable knockoff character, Black Vulcan. Other comic creators would see the success of Black Lightning and Black Vulcan then follow suit with their own legally distinguishable black lightning power character and put their own spin on it and now it sits alongside "black character with cybernetic enhancements" as one of those tropes that you never notice until somebody points it out.

Actually from what I've learned about the Unicorn Academy books, it's practically nothing like the series. Only thing that's the same is the basic premise of kids going to a magic school and they have their own unicorn partner.

Do horse girl shows always have hair that looks THIS good!? Look at the colors, the individual strands! The volume!!! Should've had these guys do G5 of MLP.

Unicorns with ptsd is as rare as a unicorn and I'm honestly here for it. They're characters too and have pasts that may or may not have been good and bad, so Wildstar having that reaction to a trigger is fairly justified when once before her rider sent themselves into doom and now her new rider is doing the exact same thing

Tbh sometimes I appreciate is that they gave the unicorn to the dad. You would believe that since its unicorns, the mom would get it, but NO: It was her fully bearded, muscular Dilf of a dad the gets the unicorn, the pink hair and the pronouns, and I love it

Althought.....I thought only virgins get to ride these and the dad certainly isnt that😅

As a mom, I agree there's a gap in media for ages 6(ish) to 11. I've been struggling to find both shows and books that aren't boring

I'm a simple person- I see negative legend reviewing horse girls & unicorns, I click

The golden unicorn kinda reminds me of Onchau. It feels like a fusion between Harry Potter and Mia and Me

my default response to being angry is to start breaking down into tears. for me it usually doesn't help and others will either ignore my sadness or keep yelling at me. so like honestly the main character best friend is just like me for real

One thing I find really funny about this show is the animation… like, most of the time when horses and riding is animated, there’s always a problem with the horses, more specifically, the legs. But no! That part of the animation is pretty good. The way they animated the riding how ever, especially during the gallop bits… let’s just say that they are very bouncy and would destroy the horses back if they were realXD these are supposed to be mostly experienced equestrians but they have such a bad seat!

As someone who’s been riding for 15+ years, it hurts to watchXD

Fun fact:Unicorn academy had a sponsor with a roblox game called wild horse islands

this makes me feel so better lol

This show feels like a mix of MLP: Friendship is Magic and She-Ra: Princesses of Power!

I actually love how Valentina was written. She might be the "mean girl", but they do explore that late on in the series. She's not just the token mean girl with a tragic "I was bullied/my parents are abusive " backstory. She is understandably upset at the people around her seemingly breaking every rule in the book. She knew ahead of time that the whole team would need to pass in order for her to pass. And it wasn't entirely from a selfish motivation either. She just wanted to make her family proud and not disappoint them. In her own terms, she's a Furi. She HAS to pass. She even starts to make friends with Sofia later on.
She also reminds me a lot of Isabella from Encanto.
Idk I just really love her character and writing. It has so much potential and I hope they continue utilizing it if they greenlight a Season 3.

Here’s a rundown on how the characters are supposed to be in the original book.

Everyone comes from unicorn island where people with unicorns are supposed to be protecting the island and only a selected bunch at 10 are chosen for this. Sophie is similarly coming from a ranch, but she wears plain clothes all the time and is actually pretty social. Ava is her best friend whose father is a gardener and since then she’s loved gardening. She has short (chin length) hair that is still dark but she is brown and not black. Scarlett is a daredevil who has blonde hair and blue eyes. She and billy have a friendly rival relationship. Layla is a shy girl with dark skin and black hair. She didn’t at first want any friends, but in her book she learned to overcome her dear. And Olivia is a ginger with super bushy and curly hair. She was supposed to be the only one without finding her unicorns powers and bonding with it until the very end. Also only a streak of their hair turns into the colour of the unicorns hair, not the whole thing.

Sophie bonded and found her unicorns magic through an exploration with Ava. Ava found her unicorns magic and bonded with it after they had found more berries that grant the unicorns power. Scarlett Im pretty sure was from helping someone during a raced instead of winning it. Layla when she finally decided to go on a camp with the rest of the people from her dorm. But Olivia got it when she finally admitted all her fears and doubts to her unicorn, and found the powers when the unicorn came to save her.

This is just a recap from what I remember

Edit: SOPHIE UNICORN DID NOT BELONG TO ANYONE AND !HIS! NAME IN THE BOOK WAS RAINBOW WDYM WILDSTAR. And the villain was undercover as a teacher and they did not have an original villain either than a cloaked person running around destroying things.

The thing I love about this show is that it gives a reason as to why the unicorns bond with humans. I'm just so used to series that have unicorns, or dragons, or other mythical creatures, just not giving an explanation as to why they chill with humans.
