They saw people shipping GlassHeart in Rise of Red and went “we have got to get these girls male love interests NOW” and then added that on top of this movie’s 12 other subplots

I'm not upset that Luis is a madrigal. I'm upset he has his mother's powers which defeats the entire point of encanto

only fifteen minutes in, but i love the dedication to calling chessy “awkwafina cat”

My only issue with “did you hear about them” is that it doesn’t make sense why Red would be down with singing about a man being a big strong hero. It’s the kinda thing she’d think was cheesy.

There were two ways they could have made it work 1) Red and Chloe are slowly losing them selves and becoming more and more the Red and Chloe of their new world. Red getting increasingly sweet and caring, and Chloe becoming more and more bratty. This would fit the story and make Chloe’s turn to evil feel more natural.

Or 2) just have Chloe and Pink drag Red in and have her dance and sing more reluctantly or even sarcastically.

im not bitter bc encanto is included. im bitter that louis inherited his mama's gift which is NOT how the gift works. like, the gift is unique to each person specifically and he's also learning something his mother would have already taught him.

and yeah, strength is shorthand to tell kids who his parent is, but thats selling kids intelligence short, especially if they love encanto and its lore.

50:00 Some people are part-time wheelchair users. They can spend some time upright and some time sitting. I'll just imagine she jumped up from her chair in that moment away lol

The thing about Encanto is the magic gives them their gift. It's not passed down and you don't pick it. It's implied that Luis also has super strength, like Luisa, which is not how their magic works. Like with naming kids with using the same first letter as the villain name, it's like they assume kids don't have brain cells to use. I know there's a media literacy crisis and a literary crisis, but they should stop spoon feeding info to people in movies and shows.

14:44 The first time I heard "perfect princess nepo babies" I was like oh that's cringe then I remembered that it's song in a descendants movie and it became my favorite lyric inthe whole movie. The Descendants franchise has always had unserious kinda cringe lyrics. In D3 Hades sings "you're stronger with those daddy issues", and people have just forgotten about that.

Perfect princess nepo babies has become one of my vocal stims.

I’m actually baffled that you didn’t mention the “ripped the wings off of tinkerbell” lyric considering that Descendants and Disney Fairies is like half of your channel.

I need your mom to know that her "Malachi Farton" joke is in fact hilarious

I'm 39, and Robin Hood was important to my age range lol! The fox was a lot of girls' first crush lol! Also, your coat.... perfection.

CAST DRAMA? Oh boy. I was not in the loop with this one

8:18 I feel like Pink had suspicions that something wasn't right, but probably chalked it up to her sister being mean and hurtful like she always is. I really wanted Red to have a moment of reflection about what are now technically false memories, and after confronting Pink about it and says she will do her best to be her sister

WHAT A GREAT MORNING TREAT!
Edit: yeah Awkwafina is the James Corden of Disney movies

The scenes between Maleficent and Hades are the best thing in the book but it’s basically just like a fan service excuse to see how Mals parents met/for fans of that ship of characters. It’s like imagining Descendants Maleficent and Hades having the relationship they had in House of Mouse. Overall story is basic and predictable, but the character moments are very cute for Descendants/Classic Disney fans.

Me: a 30 year old adult women, who’s never watched one Decedents movie but has watched all 4 of your essay videos lol this is a wonderful Saturday morning

im so surprised the pink girl was barely in the movie. from the teasers i saw, i thought she was gonna be like the 3rd main character

I really wish they had only had Max and Hazel go with the hero's into Wonderland. He could have been sneaking off to prove he can be good and she saw and convinced him to let her go or snuck behind them and joined part way through. Then we wouldn't be bogged down with the Smees and Felix (and someone's gotta get rid of Robbie). Also Pink seems more like an after thought added to takeover in the next movie.
