What would you want in a future Halloween movie?

I knew Halloween Kills was cooked in theatres when after awhile every time a character yelled "evil dies tonight!" the whole crowd would giggle. This was opening night.

Halloween felt like it was saying Michael was just a dude, and Halloween Kills was saying Michael was PURE EVIL, and Halloween ends was saying Michael was a sad old man

I'm honestly just amazed at how the reboot trilogy managed to basically perform all of the same mistakes as the rest of the franchise in just 3 movies.

I found it odd that for the forty years that Michael was locked up, Laurie was paranoid and preparing for his return, but when he's on the loose for a few years after returning and going on a killing spree, which included her daughter, Laurie is living her best life baking pies without a care in the world. I agree with the poster that suggested the first and third movies should have been swapped.

I just realized when Michael gets caught in the flashback in Kills, hes stands in the same spot where his parents catch him as a boy in the original

I just dont know why there aren't people to tell the writers "hey dude this idea is really bad. "

My biggest issue with Halloween Kills is the ENTIRE town is acting like they've been terrorized for decades by this monster but in their world he would really just be "the nut job that killed his sister when he was a kid then escaped and killed 2 more people 40 YEARS ago. The only person who would possibly be that traumatized is Tommy.

2018 ended on a perfect note that should've been the end for the series for a long time, but people got greedy.

@patrickkanas3874 11 months ago

Honestly, Alison and Corey running off as duel murderers would've been the kind of gut punch ending you want in a horror movie

Halloween need to go back to this Michael Myers ----- Dr. Loomis famously described Michael Myers as the embodiment of pure, unadulterated evil, a force with no conscience, empathy, or understanding of life or death, whom he met as a child with "the blackest eyes – the Devil's eyes". Loomis dedicated his life to both trying to understand Michael's pure evil and later to keeping him imprisoned, believing him to be a supernatural entity rather than a human being who could be rehabilitated

Does anyone else think if the third and first movie of this trilogy were switched, it would make more sense? Like, Laurie is actually stable and happy, and then this evil boy comes into her granddaughter's life, who stumbles upon Michael Meyers living in a sewer, and reignites The Shape's drive, leading to a double killing spree which results in Michael taking back his position as Haddonfield's boogeyman. Then, in the second film, Michael goes on the rampage, and the town freaks out, and Laurie's daughter is killed. She then becomes this single-minded alcoholic recluse hell bent on killing Michael, devising this trap to finally end him (assisted by her granddaughter). That's a story and character arcs that make sense.

I'll never forget seeing Halloween 2018 for the first time in theaters. Those opening credits with the symbolism of the rotting pumpkin reversing back to life like the franchise itself was given new life... absolute cinema.

Halloween 2018 was a step in the right direction. Kills and Ends turned around and ran backwards as fast as possible.

It started when a director with no feel for suspense decided he wanted to make 3 Halloween movies that are direct continuation of the original which is a masterclass in suspense.

A thing that bugs me with the new Halloweens is they lack continuity. Laurie goes from this off the grid, boobie trap setting, survivalist to this memoir writing, pumpkin bread baking granny novelist in the 3rd. Once people go off the grid like that they don’t usually go back to “oh that’s all done and over with,” especially knowing he was actually out there.

PUMPKIN PIES TONIGHT!

The most unbelievable thing about the whole trilogy is.... for 4 years, Michael has been living under the only bridge in Haddonfield that everyone walks/ drives over every day, and the only person who knows or has seen him is a homeless man

@corvus1970 11 months ago

I've said it before, but I remain astounded at how "Kills," and "Ends," managed to so thoroughly piss away every ounce of anticipation and goodwill that David Gordon Green had generated via "Halloween (2018)." Astounding and baffling.

What could've worked for part 3 is that Corey was a side character introduced in Halloween (2018) and showing possible warning signs throughout the two films on how evil is able to influence to those we least suspect.
