I worked on this, from pre-production thru the Chinese Theater Premiere, and the Director’s Cut for blu-ray. Beyond the credits, my name pops up on a few tombstones as Sid and Malcom walk thru the graveyard.

Related: We had to do more than 20 versions of Rob’s faux-trailer for Grindhouse (which you would think would be the one time a studio would say “go wild”…)  he was utterly depressed dealing with the studio all thru production and beyond. We were wrapping that trailer up just as production started for HW.

You ain't late for Halloween 2025, you're early for Halloween 2026!

It's interesting how interwoven and thought process went in to casting all the actors. Give me a greater appreciation of the film and effort that went into it.

Despite what people say about this movie, I for one absolutely loved this version of Halloween. To me this is Michael Myers, the original will always be iconic and one of the best, but RZs version of Michael was what he was always supposed to be. Bruiting, horrifying, and disturbing. Because that’s what real life death looks like it’s horrifying. This is my Halloween.

I’ve been a diehard defender of RZ’s Halloween for almost 20 years now.

Rob Zombie’s Halloween may be a mixed bag, but I appreciate Rob’s take on the character and trying something different, not to mention Malcolm McDowell as a truly fantastic Dr. Loomis

I love Rob Zombie's Halloween. It was the first time that Michael Myers and the story of Halloween actually got in my head and creeped me out. People complain that Zombie "revealed too much", but that's what I want. Show me the face of evil. I also love that there's no supernatural bullshit because I just don't find that stuff to be scary. The Boogeyman isn't real, but there could be a gigantic maniac with a knife creeping around outside right now as we speak.

What an absolute beast of the early 2000s reboots. Your doc showcases very well how.

As far as remakes go I think this was one of the best. Actually really liked it. As far as horror films as late go, it's pretty awesome lol Loved that they went onto the childhood of Micheal. It was dark. No cheesy comedy. Paid tribute to the original. And I love that Carpenter told Rob to go make it his own. And I think that's just what he did whilst still being respectful to the original. Also this documentary was really good. Well done.

There was a saying floating around Hollywood before the Weinstein's were ruined by their own behaviour. It was something like "Never trust the Weinstein's" and yet everyone seemingly did and Zombie even went back for more torture when they lied to him yet again about creative control for the second.
