"Eat shit and LIVE, Bill."

Still an S-Tier burn.

I meet the actress who played Angela, Felissa Rose, and she said the budget was so low, everyone had to bring there own clothes from home as their outfits. Which means all those short shorts and crop tops were actually owned by those guys lol

Fun Fact at 5:02: That is Robert Earl Jones, father of the late James Earl Jones, they both sound so similar. Also RIP Both of them.

"Oh my god! Angela's the killer, and she's really a boy!"
"Oh my god! Someone remembered this movie and made a comedy sketch about it!!"

Fun fact: Felissa Rose was originally going to wear a strap-on for the scene at 14:50, but her mother was NEVER going to let that happen, so they hired a body double, a local college aged guy who was SO nervous to do the scene that he got really drunk, filmed the scene with the mask, and has never revealed himself to this day.

The aunt delivers her lines like an alien who's constantly confused whether the person she's speaking to is right next to her or on the other side of the building.

“Released just over 30 years ago in 1983”
I was born in 1983, imagine my surprise to find out I’m 30 and not 40 going on 41.

If you ever have a chance to meet Felissa Rose at a convention, do it. She is always smiling, appreciative of her fans, and has a great sense of humor.

This movie has so many good line reads it’s hard to forget them:
“She’s a real carpenters dream: flat as a board and needs a screw!”
“Eat shit and die!” “Eat shit and live.”

There’s a clever scene that gives a good hint as to Angela’s reveal, when the annoying girls question why she showers alone as opposed to when the rest of them do. You (most likely) assume it’s cause she’s shy, and the characters assume it’s because she’s insecure about not hitting puberty

Not that it's hard to hear, but the cook Ben is played by Robert Earl Jones, father of James Earl Jone (RIP Both Father and Son)

A Sad Fact: This is Mike Kellin's final film. He was sick during filming, but did his best to conceal it. He died of lung cancer in August 1983, three months before the film's release.

Seeing the ending and knowing what the aunt did makes her performance actually work... when you come to the conclusion that SHE is a sociopath. Her odd mannerisms and speech fit perfectly, knowing that.

I've met Felissa Rose at various conventions over the years, she's the best, and ALWAYS includes that iconic face in her fan pictures.

Everytime I see this movie, all I can think about is that one quote from Robot Chicken: “Oh my god! Somebody remembered this movie and made a comedy sketch about it!”

In November 1984, I was at Navy boot camp in Great Lakes, IL. On Friday nights, they had movies for those who graduated boot camp but were awaiting orders. Several not-yet-graduated recruits, including myself, snuck out to see the movie. It was, of course, "Sleepaway Camp." We were all so blown away by the ending. But we had to quickly sneak back to the barracks.

We couldn't talk about what we had seen, for fear of getting caught. We all had to wait until graduation on December 7th. The thrill of getting away with seeing the movie, along with the amazing ending, and not being able to talk about it, made the experience even greater. I don't care for horror films, but this is one I will never forget.

Fun Fact: Willy Kuskin, who plays one of the bullied campers, was genuinely bullied by the other kids during filming. Frank Trent Saladino, who played a camp counselor, had to step in when the other cast members took things too far.

I know that everyone always brings up how creepy the final shot is, but Angela's wide eyed staring throughout the whole movie is just as unnerving. It's such an intense stare despite her facial expression remaining totally blank.
