Okay but the fact the lead actress/Angela autographs curling wands to donate to fundraisers like for the Trevor Project makes my dark gay heart sing

"Eat shit and live, Bill" lives rent free in my mind every day

Ricky was always ready to throw hands. He didn't give af who it was😂

"A REAL CARPENTERS DREAM, FLAT AS A BOARD, AND IN NEED OF A SCREW" i swear if I hadn't seen this film; i would've thought that line came from Drag Race or somethin'

Ricky's hyper protection of his cousin made the movie

The fact that the Film Makers originally wanted the actress for Angela (a child mind you) to be in the final scene standing there naked wearing a strap on and only didn't because her Mother was absolutely not having it is wild

After a certain point, Angela's reactions are so fully JUSTIFIED.

I aspire to be at Ricky’s level of “on go” lmfaooo when Mel says “you can’t save her all the time” I know he was thinking WHO CANT???! 💀 that boy is an ally, an icon, a king amongst men truly

The funny thing about Ricky in a wig is because the mother of Angela's actress refused to let her daughter be in any of the murder scenes like physically. Since she was 13/14 she was trying to protect her from it. The actress talks about it in a few interviews

they couldnt handle the doll

What I find interesting about this movie from a trans perspective is that Angela/ Peter kind of mirrors the experience that trans people have when they don’t get to transition. Being forced to be someone you’re not by a parental figure and having that identity disconnect resulting in a lot of trauma, not feeling comfortable showering and swimming around others because of dysphoria and struggling with platonic and romantic relationships are also things I can attest to experiencing being trans myself (sidenote: obv not all trans people that can’t transition turn into murderers but there’s a serious spike in suicidal tendency, depression, anxiety, etc.)

“Hey Angela, how come you’re so fucked up?”

I saw this movie for the first time last year without spoilers and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

what i really love about this movie though, is that we as the audience never get to see or hear how Angela feels about being Angela, whether she feels like Angela or Peter, and I think that's very interesting, we get to see how everyone else feels about Angela and we see what everyone else thinks about Angela, except Angela

The auntie who adopted “Angela” was unhinged but she was ACTING DOWN!!! One of my favorite parts of the film.

RICKY SUPREMACY

20:31 Ricky vs a bunch of 30 year olds😂

The crop top booty short shorts combo was definitely part of the 80s. Literally have a photo of my dad in above the knee shorts and a nice fitted shirt with my mom in matching cross colors 😂

Y'all know Ben is played by James Earl Jones' daddy. When i first watched this I thought his voice sounded familiar.

I just love seeing the younger queer folks discovering all the camp and cult classics that made me realize I was a queer weirdo who will never fit in. So, I found other queer weirdos and lived happily ever after.

He has a WHOLE BEARD YALL that’s how long it’s been since we last saw him 💔🥀
